DH caught a Staph infection or something from the water. He is covered in pus like bumps. We thought it was an allergic reaction hut it just kept spreading. So becareful if you go swimming in any of the natural water sources like the falls. And our daughter has a yeast infection. She is so uncomfortable. What bothers me is that when we had come back she was constantly scratching and I thought she was being 'fresh' or rude since she didnt have any other symptoms but finally I took her to the doctor and they said she had a yeast infection.

So sorry to hear your Dh and daughter aren't well .. many to them
one of the stops on our cruise is Jamaica !! Yikes!! We are supposed to climb Dunns Rivers Falls, I guess we better think about skipping it... just not worth the risk

No No. Go to the falls. Its beautiful to see. We went there and to YS falls so it could have been either one.
There are so many reasons why this happened to DH and DD. Could be the group of people that were in the water with them at the same time...but still bare in mind others bathe and dont have a thing happen..just so happend it was our turn.

Unfortunately this is not the first time I have heard of this - I have had a few friends have problems when they got off the their cruises there for the day. Years ago a large number of people (including my family and I) on our cruise came down with Bronchitis after climbing dunn's river falls - and the ships dr says it is rather common occurance for people to get sick afterwards- So now we either avoid the island by chosing different itinerary or simply don't get off the boat.

wow, you poor thing! we went to sandals ocho rios and had no problems at all...we actually avoided the pools b/c at night people would be kinda sketchy by them at times (think naked, drinking and ???)......hope they are both doing better soon!

I AM SO SCARED NOW!!!!!!!! I really just wanted to enjoy our honeymoon, and now I feel like we aren't going too.. Thanks for posting this, Maybe sandals will let us switch places..

jz - don't switch you guys will have fun!!! - just bring antibacterial lotion or soemthign if you want, and wash your hands and all good...we did the falls and nothign happened, same with a lot of girls on here!

I went to Jamaica for our HM and had no problem. We climbed the dunnes river fall, we went in the pools during the day and night and went in the ocean. We had no problems
