Re: James Cress Florist? Any input?
I met with him. I didn't find him to be too much more expensive than any of the other big florists I visited. You've heard right - They are amazing. I have never heard a bad thing about them. When I met with James Cress (yes, James Cress - the owner always meets with the brides) he spent a ton of time with me. He has all sample bouquets and has you hold different styles in front of the mirror to help you decide what you like. He was really patient. Then, he gave me a rose to take home on my way out - Just a nice touch. We ended up not booking with them because our house florist gave us such an amazing deal (under $1000 for everything). Good luck!

I just booked them last week. I found the prices to be very fair. I have no clue about flowers, and they were very helpful and not pushy at all. I was very impressed. If you need any specific info., let me know.

Which office are you going to?? I went to Smithtown. I thought Mr. Cress was GREAT. I used them, and LOVED my flowers. The best thing I liked him was, I was usure what type of bouquet I wanted. I was going to go with a round one. He gave my 3 types, round, cascade, and an arm bouquet, and told me to walk around with them.
I went with an arm bouquet of calla lillies, and roses. It was GORGEOUS!!!!!
Also, being that they are the house florist, they take off $10 per table for your flowers.

I used them and absolutely LOVED my flowers. They did such a wonderful job. I really had no idea what I wanted when I went in. All I told him what that I really liked calla lillies and he worked from there. They were so helpful and did a wonderful job.

I've used them alot for random arrangements and they always do great work. I still remember the arrangement they did for my grandfathers funeral - it was stunning and exactly what we wanted (though had a hard time explaining to the saleswomen through our tears.)
But I was disappointed when I met with them for my wedding. I felt Mr. Cress wasn't listening to what I wanted, he was just creating what he thought I should have. I told him I wanted tulips and he starts making me a bouquet of roses and daisys. At first I thought it was just for color, but when I asked him he said this would be the actual bouquet, and I said no it won't.
His prices were about $500-1000 more that I ended up paying at Flower Michele.

Re: James Cress Florist? Any input?
James Cress does amazing work and their prices are comparable to most florists I went too. I personally did not book with Mr. Cress because I found him very unwilling to listen to my suggestions. He kept pushing his own flower choices and colors and actually rolled his eyes at an idea that I had, so needless to say I was turned off. If you don't have anything specific in mind when it comes to your flowers, or if your willing to go along with his suggestions, I think they would do a wonderful job.
