When are you planning on sending out invites? My wedding is 1/16 and I was thinking of sending them out around the 2nd week of October. Is that too soon? I just would rather send them out earlier and receive responses earlier than later...

We are the day after you, and we have been told to do the Nov 17, but we may send out earlier, because you are getting too close to Thanksgiving, exams, christmas and hannukah shopping, etc.
We may sent out first week in November

I plan on sending mine out mid-October and I'm two weeks before you. So I would say end of October early November. The norm is usually 8-12weeks prior.

Thanks for your input girls... I think I'll wait till around Halloween to send them out then. I just know that between my family and FH's family, it's gonna take forever to get rsvp's back.

I am sending mine out Oct 12. This gives me enough time to send out a B list or C list if I have to!
I also made my RSVP date Dec 1 so that i can give people 2 weeks after the deadline to comfortably respond before I get at them (instead of it being 2 weeks before the wedding)

My RSVP is December 1st too!! I just don't know when to send them out... I guess I'll just do it sometime towards the end of October. lol.

my wedding is jan 16 too. im sending out hopefully the first week in november and response date is dec 7. wanted to have them out before it got too close to all the holiday mail...

sending the invites out too early won't make people send in the RSVP's early. They'll just have more time to procrastinate! and tuck the invite away somewhere. If I were you I'd send them out November 2nd and request the rsvp back mid-december. I mean, really!! most people know that they are coming or not, and don't need 2 1/2 months to decide. KWIM.
