Has anyone ever had this done? Does it really work?

Re: Japanese hair straightening

Hi

I have naturally VERY curly hair ... and I have been getting the JS straightening for years ... look at my pics. That is my hair now -- pin straight but can hot curl it when necessary. Also, there is a picture of that too. I am currently growing the straightening out because I want a change after 5 years. BUT its so easy now ... such low maintenance - I will miss it.

I get it done in QUEENS ... its cheap ... only 175. WORTH IT! Its called hair village.

I know people who have had it done and yes it really does work. You have to do it about every 6 months, it's also not that cheap. It also takes hours to do it

One thing I find weird is that you can't get your hair wet when you get it, like you can't be out in the rain...Forgot for how long you have to do this, but then it's like uhmmm dont you shower lol

You cant wash your hair for 48 hours - not that big of deal. You shower without washing your hair. Also I didnt really wait 48 hours all the time but at least 36.

It takes 4-6 hours to do but saves so much time on a daily basis. I wash and go.

Oooh ok thats not bad then. Yeah i agree if you have very curly hair and its difficult to maintain everyday then those 4-6 hours are not a problem...I mean i stay about that long at the salon to get my hair colored and cut lol

So once you get it done and dont get it wet for 48 hrs, then you can shampoo, etc. like normal?

Re: Japanese hair straightening

I have never done this but I have wavy hair and is hard to straighten. I actually just got this new hair straightner, OMG it is amazing! Its called maxius. That thing works wonders, my hair gets so straight and i straighten it in half the time of my old straightner

Yes, its stop frizzes. Its almost like you never ever had frizzy hair.

My friend got it done and she loved it. She said it helped control her frizzies and her hair always looked great. I guess to me it's not too weird that you can't wash your hair for 48 hours afterwards because..isn't that what happens when you get a normal perm? (At least that's what I learned from Legally Blonde )

Re: Japanese hair straightening

Yeah 48 hrs is nothing...I was just reading it wrong that you could NEVER wash your hair after you had it, lol, sill y me

I've gotten it done since it first came out. It works! I just wash and go.

The only annoying thing is that your hair is pretty flat. My hair always looks like it was ironed straight.
