JCrew dresses

JCrew dresses

I went onto the JCrew website to look at possible bridesmaids dresses. I saw a few I thought were pretty and that my sister and FSIL might like. Then, I called JCrew to find out where they have dresses in the store. She told me that you can't try them on unless you purchase the dress. There are stores where you can VIEW them, but you cannot try them on!! I said told her i thought was kind of crazy - not to be able to try it on. She apologized and just said that the salesperson could take the measurements to see what size to purchase and then you have 60 days to return the unworn dress with tags. Is it just me or is that nuts?? I couldn't purchase a dress for 3 girls and have not one of them try it on!

Re: JCrew dresses

i used j.crew dresses for my girls. Their dresses run the same size as all the rest of their stuff (it's not that weird bridal sizing). So if you can find out what size they would normally wear in Jcrew dresses, you will probably be okay with that size.

Jcrew always has some sort of dresses in their stores (not the bridesmaid ones), so you can try those on for sizing.

I think that's odd, that's there no where to try them on.

Re: JCrew dresses

It is odd for a bridal dress store to not allow try on but for a store that mostly sells daily clothing it most likely doesnt sell these dresses like Bill Levkoff or Maggie Sottero I dont think its too strange. How many times do you go to try on something and its stretched or has makeup on it? Im sure this is probably why they dont want people trying them on, b/c they get ruined and that is that.

If they are returnable I would just buy them. The worst thing that happens is you bring them back. i would just make sure that upon returning them you get ALL your money back not a store credit

i find that odd as well that they wouldn't have at least one common size as a sample to try on weird

It isn't weird at all. They can't carry samples because it is not something you order like in a bridal salon. And who wants to buy a dress that has been tried on a million times.

J.Crew has great return policies. Just hold onto your receipt.

I got my girls dresses from there - they measured themselves and all three of their dresses fit perfectly. We even bought them on final sale (no return)!

I was in a wedding and ordered two sizes and returned the one that didn't fit. I LOVED it!
