The link doesn't work, but I read that article earlier this afternoon.
As I said in the other thread about this, I think that the writer is only expressing what a lot of people, including some brides-to-be, think about wedding websites.
I have one but sometimes I think it's just a bit too narcissistic and presumtuous...and if I didn't list it on the STD's, I probably would've deleted it.
I really don't think that it has anything to do with the writer being jealous of true love and/or happiness...but rather asking why it's necessary to have it on a public display for all the world to see.

i actually don't think mine is narcissistic at all. it states that we met through a mutual friend, got engaged after a year while knowing we'd have to wait to get married (we were engaged in june of 2006), and it states where we are registered, where our events would take place, and that's pretty much it. i have seen some sites that are sappy and nauseating, but i think most of them are helpful pieces of information. to write an article on how detestable they all are seems a bit unfair and judgmental. just my honest opinion.

Re: JEALOUS!!!
By nature, humans are judgemental and biased. Just as the writer offended you by her broad strokes of the brush regarding websites, you've also assumed that she is a jealous individual.
If her article wasn't titled 'I Hate Your Wedding Website', it would probably have ended up being clicked over repeatedly, unnoticed.
I think it's funny. I think some of it is true. Some of it can be offensive, but it causes discussion and self-reflection and maybe even some doubt, and that's not a bad thing.

Re: JEALOUS!!!
well whatever. i think it's over the top. people can write about more intriguing things than this. but then again i'm accustomed to reading about neurophysiology, cardiology, biochemistry, etc., bc i'm in medical school so perhaps my expectations are just too high!! i don't agree with the article and usually when people are passionate enough to write about something that is about someone else's actions, there are other latent feelings underneath (hence my theory of jealousy).
but hey to each his own. you like the article, i don't... that's what makes the earth go 'round!!
