How does everyone feel about Jeb running for President in 2008??? I read that this was a possibility. In my opinion, that is SCARY!!! First of all, how could this nation have a president named JEB???

Re: Jeb Bush
i don't know much about him. Except for the fact that he allowed that poor woman to be kept on life support unnecesarily...so that doesn't make me think highly of him...
Does anyone else know about him except that he is Bush's brother???

I know that he worked very hard in 2000 to disenfranchise a lot of Democratic voters in Florida. Now this is my opinion-his use of faulty touch screens in this election(with no paper trail) obviously benefitted his brother. Too corrupt for my liking.

I totally agree. It's bad enough that this country is 'owned' and run by rich males, but it seems increasingly apparent that it is owned and run by rich FAMILIES. If Jeb Bush were to get elected president, I would definitely move to the Carribbean.

over 30% of the US citizens used touch screens, all of which have no paper trials but it can be audited and checked.
Are you saying that Jeb Bush purposely used faulty ones in the state of florida??

This is off the subject, but is it true that Bush did coke well into his 30's? My friend told me this and said it's a pretty well known thing.

But like you said ..this is a reality and not specific to Jeb Bush...many presidents and candidates came from this.... Kerry's own wife is a product of an extremely rich family... Now what does that have to do with running a country?
If we discounted all the rich males in this country...are you saying that only poor females are people we should vote for????

I don't understand the connection that you are making between rich males and poor females.
I think the problem with the rich male issue is that increasingly, if you want to enter electoral politics, you have to come from money, which is not fair.
I don't think it is too farfetched to consider that these rich families are using the power of office to benefit themselves and their families. Right now I am thinking about Bush's personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein and all those wonderful oilfields being taken care of by Halliburton.

Ah those oil fields taken care of by Halliburton, Vice President **** Cheney was chief executive officer of Halliburton before he became George Bush's running mate. Coincidence????

Yes I do believe that could have happened. But I think more of their work was around voter suppression. The mainstream media is giving this false impression that voter supression did not take place in this election. I worked the polls election day and saw it taking place left and right. Given that Jeb and the Secretary of State (R-Kenneth Blackwell) promised they would deliver Ohio and Florida to G.S. I don't think it is a farfetched idea. .
Blackwell wanted to throw out registration forms if they were not printed on card stock as opposed to regular paper, and Jeb wanted to throw out registration forms if folks did not check that they were citizens even thought they signed an oath at the bottom of their registration forms and there were tons more things going on around that issue. Why go to those lengths to prevent people from voting?

OH ...dont get me wrong...I TOTALLY AGREE with you about the rich males ebing the only ones that seem to be able to powerful, politically. AND i understand how you made that assocaition to Jeb Bush...BUT, he is no different from the others...So why no to just him. That would be no to many many others...
I made the association because if you knock out the rich males...what is the exact opposite...poor females... sorry that was a stupid comment... But i guess i was trying to say...if you knock these power house, rich male, political families...then we shouldn't have voted for any of the presidential candidates

I think that he and his family compared to other families are in politics expressly to use their power in office for personal gain. I don't necessarily believe that all the other rich males in office are there to achieve that goal. Some of them come from political families and are continuing that tradition, but I think the Bushes are different for the reasons I mentioned above.

i see... i guess i see a lot of people, and the Bushes are no exception, to be like this in one wasy shape or form. People use any power they have for personal gain... But i understand the association you are making. Bush=oil=war, Jeb Bush=GW..
Sorry i am slow tonight!
