Jeep Liberty or Nissan Xterra

I'm getting a new car and i can't decide between the two.


Does anyone have any insight on either car?

I love Nissan cars, I would go for that.

But my uncle has a jeep liberty and its a smooth drive. Also a good car - he hasnt had any major problems with it.

my friend has the liberty and isnt 100% happy

my aunt has an Xterra and loves it

which xterra- because the new xterra has up and down hill assist. My fh has the frontier and they both have similer options and it handels the best, better than anyother suv in the snow

Say NO to the Liberty!! haha..i had a 2003 Liberty Ltd...bought it new...had transmission problems 3 months later...took them THREE times to fix it, but i think it's cause they kept replacing the wrong part.

My other gripe is the freakin' 'maintenance' costs...i put ALOT of miles on it and when it came to 30K & 60k 'scheduled' maintenance they charged from $800-$1200!!!! For maintenance???? I never paid that to repair any old clunkers i owned.

And it wasn't just my dealer..i called around to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off....they claimed the high cost was due to the fact it was a 4WD...but FH has a Toyota 4Runner & my parents have a Ford Explorer...they never pay anything like that.

Oh and the passenger side window would make this horrid screaching noise every so often when it went down...they clained it was 'dirt'.. making the noise. It was the worst built car I ever owned..would never buy another Jeep!!!

It is a cute car & it drove nice, but got 19mpg...so no disrespect to any that have it..i just had a BAD experince.

I now have a 2006 Toyota Matrix and LOVE it...it has 4wd and gets 30mpg!!! And has great cargo space with the seats down.

I rented a liberty for a week. I loved it BUT... it suck on gas really bad. It's a 3.7 L engine. Jeep is notorious for a not so good gas mileage.
