This is not a negative comment about Jehovah's, I am just surprised. It was 10:15 AM and they were knocking on my door. Yes, I am home, but wherever would they get the idea that I would be home at this time?

sometimes I want to scream thru the door...GO AWAY!!!! but I'm usually polite and just say, No thank you, not interested, have a nice day!!'

It is usually annoying. Today was embarrassing as I was still in pjs and the woman asked if I was sleeping. I told her I am unemployed and stay like this for a while.
I guess they know that a lot of people in my condo complex are retirees, so they are home. I wouldn't think they would go down a normal street at 10:15AM on a weekday (it is a weekday, right?)

in my area, they come anytime of the day or night, weekday or weekend, rain, sleet, snow..doesn't matter...they come!! maybe they should work for the post office???

Yeah, but when they are referred to in the plural and not the whole name, people call them Jehovah's (as opposed to Jehovahs)

You're right!! It really bothers me when people solicite religions...and don't take 'no' for an answer. I feel terrible turning them away BUT I don't want to be bothered in my home.

Calling someone a Jehovah or referring to people as Jehovah's would be incorrect. Why? According to the dictionary Jehovah is God's personal name. So calling someone a Jehovah would be calling them God. This would be incorrect. Thus Jehovah's Witnesses or Jehovah's Witness (singular) would be the correct terminology.

That happened to me once when I was home sick with the flu. It was like 11 a.m. - of course I'm in my PJs - I'm strung out from cold medicine. I originally had no intentions of answering the door, but they kept knocking and knocking, so I finally gave in.
I opened door and must have looked like walking death - they actually stepped back a step. I too, told them that I was not interested.
