Re: Jenniesunshine

Thanks so much for asking--and to all the girls who helped me out with the poll and great responses. So, here's my 'update': I actually spoke with my saleswoman (Noreen--she's the best!) at Wedding Salon and I think things are going to work out better than expected.

Richard Glasgow is actually going to be there for a weekend in November, so she made me an appointment to meet with him, try on both dresses (or whatever other ones he's got that might look even better), get his opinion on what modifications (on either dress) should be made, etc.

I talked to my mom last night about the dresses and told her what I wanted to do to the tulle one (make the waist lower and get rid of the middle line of sequins under the bust) which would create the same 'line' as on the first dress and the other tulle dress I tried on at Wedding Salon. My mom said that if we had those things done that she would say to go with the tulle over the satin. After interrogating her a bit I figured out that her opinion had more to do with the lines created by the dress and the fact that the other one had a more classic shape to it than the material of the dress. Obviously, I gave my deposition skills a bit of a workout yesterday.

Also, Noreen was really nice and understanding about the whole thing, so I feel much better now. Except I have to drop like 15 lbs between now and then because Richard is taking my measurements that day too instead of in January like I'd planned

I'll definitely try to take some pictures next time though. I'm guessing that they'll let me since I already have a 50% deposit on *some* dress.

Seriously, I was like, 'Sure, okay...Richard's there??...No, Thanksgiving weekend is fine... I'm not going away because FH is on search warrant duty...we can't leave Nassau County....' Good to know that FH's government work can enable me to get some superior dress treatment.
