Jenny2Penny or anyone else....(re: working out and muscle soreness)

Jenny, maybe you'll know of a remedy or what I can do - I worked out on Tuesday. I have a new trainer (the other one resigned.. ) and maybe it's the change in style (this new one I think works her trainees out harder) or the fact that I didn't work out as aggressively as I was for 1 week prior to seeing the new PT but my thighs hurt sooooo bad. Not all throughout but just the muscle towards the front of the thigh. She had me do deep lunges and I think that might have stretched the thigh muscle out too far or something. I can't walk fast or get up or sit down normally because it hurts too much. I put Mineral Ice (it's like Icy Hot lotion) on last night but it didn't really help.

Is there anything else I can do? I see her again tomorrow and I don't want to tell her that I can't do have the exercises because it hurts too much.

Thanks
Mary

Have you been stretching? Sounds like its your hamstring thats sore, sometimes a light stretch can help w. the pain. The first time I took a spinning class I overdid it, and could not walk down stairs for a week. You should tell your trainer though, since you dont want to overwork the muscle and do damage.

OUCH!
Definetly stretch!
Get a massage (nothing too deep though).
Tell your trainer!!!
Feel better

I didn't stretch beforehand but I've read that that is not the best thing, that you can over stretch. But I did walk for 15 mins to the gym and then did 10 mins on the bike so. We stretched afterwards but I guess not enough.

Oh well it will go away, I'll put the heating pad on it tonight. Thanks ladies
