Now we have some questions for those of you who have booked JT before.
1. After you signed the contract, did you ever meet with your BM again? (what for?)
We signed on a Sat 2 weeks ago, and thats it. Have not heard from him again. Will he be contacting us in the future? (is he supposed to?)
2. Was there a tasting done? (what did you taste? Food? Cake?)
We asked the BM when the tasting is done, he told us that JT does not do tastings, since we don't choose for the menu (they offer all 5 entrees to guests). But then at the Bridal Expo on the 30th, we tried to look at the lounge and we were told it was closed for a tasting! So they do have tastings!
3. What does Francesca do?
We are trying to book an appointment with her, but shes pretty busy. Is it a one time meeting and thats it? Or can we meet with her all the time? (our BM said we can meet with her all the time for free) If she is available to meet with us all the time (for free) then how does she make money?
4. Napkins, name tags, etc. Who is a better person to discuss napkin options, name/table tag options, etc...
I thought it would be the BM (since he works for JT) but my fiance said Francesca. We dont mean what napkin options for extra $...but the options that are included with JT.
Also, for the people who finished with a wedding there:
5. Are we allowed to take the extra food home?
6. If you had a signin book/table. Where did you put it? I think our BM said he would put it in the cocktail room. But the signin is usually done BEFORE the wedding and ceremony.
Thanks

Re: Jericho Terrace - booked, now some questions
oh lordy... I think you should maybe email this list of questions right to JT! Honestly you will get the best answers right from the horses mouth.
here are a few I can answer: Fran**** is free to use up until a month or 2 before the wedding and then she is 1K
You meet with the BM 2 months before the wedding I believe.
They do not have linen colors for free... just the white (I asked before I booked)
They do give good to take home... I remember them telling me that.
Honestly... you should call Jericho Terrace because it seems you have many specific questions.

Re: Jericho Terrace - booked, now some questions
Okay, here we go....
1. Nope, never met him again. We directed all questions to Francesca and Linda or our maitre'd (but that was only the last two weeks before the wedding).
2. No tasting- we went to a showcase and tried the food there. But that's not even necessary- rest assured their food is out of this world amazing.
3. I didn't want to meet with Francesca because I felt like I already had a handle on my vendors and didn't need help. But it was free so I said what the heck, let me meet her. She was really nice, a straight shooter, which I loved. She helped me brainstorm and recommended our DJ (Body Rock) when we were having a hard time choosing. Also, she was an excellent person to ask random JT questions of- like how big are the tables (72' round), what color are the linens (ivory damask), etc.
4. There are no options- plain and simple. We brought in our own linens.
5. We took our meals to go!
6. Our guest book was in the CH room and then moved to a table outside the reception room once CH finished. I've never heard of signing in before the ceremony but I've always been to ceremonies at churches and not RHs so I'm not sure if that's where the difference lies.
Anyway, I hope this helped. If you have any questions, please feel free to FM me!
ETA: Oh yeah and Fran is free up until a month before the wedding. You can meet with her as many times as you want though we only met her in person once. After that, I did call her and e-mail her a few times though.
ETAA: We had 9 entrees on our menu but we were still given many other options to choose from. But you'll speak to Linda about that when you're about 2 months out from the wedding. We did a cake tasting though. We contacted Dortoni's directly to set that up. It was very informal but delicious!

who is your BM? I booked in early December with them, and have not heard a peep from our BM. Just made our first payment.
I didn't know there were no tastings =*( . . my FH was looking forward to it.

Re: Jericho Terrace - booked, now some questions
We met with our BM after booking initially, but that was because we changed our date... he told us to contact him with any questions we might have... since then I have been in contact with him via email several times. He has been great about getting back to me!!!!
You CAN do a tasting! They told us that we can definitely come in for one!
As for the cake, you need to contact Dortoni's to do that... they will let you come in and taste the cake.
Yes they do let you bring food home.
Linens are ivory I believe...
Francesca we thought about hiring but it's not really in our budget... she is a 'free' wedding planner for up to a month before, and if you hire her as a day of coordinator, she will basically make sure your whole wedding runs smoothly. to be honest, didn't like that she was pushing certain vendors on us... and trying to get us to do things we said we didn't want originally (such as video). I feel like JT , her and other vendors all advertise each other. But she is very helpful and will make sure your day goes great.
I agree that you should contact JT to ask them these questions. Just shoot them an email and I am sure they will get back to you!

We probably just guaranteed more people than you did. We guaranteed 150 at $86 per person for a Friday night in May. They didn't give us a 5 entree option- maybe if the price was too high for us they would've given us the option, but we were happy with the price and ecstatic with the 9 entree choices. It was like going to a restaurant.

Re: Jericho Terrace - booked, now some questions
I'm excited! I'll definitely ask for a tasting now=)
I also guaranteed 150 people for a Saturday afternoon but only given 5 entrees. I wish I had known earlier as I would've asked for them to throw in the 9 entrees. That's truly amazing!

We booked JT as our RH.
Now we have some questions for those of you who have booked JT before.

I'm going to TRY and answer all of these questions one at a time like you have them listed:
1. My BM was there to answer all questions that I had when I called. I didn't meet with him again unless I had to and he was always willing to meet with me with questions and so on. About 3 months before the wedding I met with Linda (a coordinator) and then 10 days before the wedding I met with my MD. Your BM will be there the day of the wedding (usually) but as for meeting with him, he will not call you unless he has some questions for you.
2. We did not have a food tasting. Like your BM told you they do not do food tastings at the hall. What might have been going on when you went there was someone asked for a food tasting before they booked the hall. As for the cake, since it comes from Dortoni's I just went down to Dortoni's and did some cake tasting there. I don't remember if I needed a reservation. I ordered my cake through the hall at my meeting with Linda (3 months before the wedding). She had pictures of the cakes offered and I just picked from there and it was PERFECT and delicious (and I'm not a cake person).
3. Francesca is a coordinator that owns 'A Dazzling Afair'. Not everyone that uses her is from JT. She does invites, menues, etc our of her office as well but is also the in house coordinator from JT. I only met with her once and she helped me with a budget and a timeline for planning the wedding. She told me I was free to contact her and ask questions or run ideas by her at any time since I was a JT bride. HOWEVER, if you want to use her as a full wedding coordinator or a day of coordinator you had to pay for that. She was very helpful though and I DEF recommend trying to meet with her. Just remember, she's free for you so she has to try and work around your schedule and brides that are paying for her services.
4. When I got married (Sept 5, 2010), JT did not have any linen options (I doubt that changed in the past 5 months). It was ivory and that was it. You can call and ask them for the linen place they recommend (in Hicksville) but I found them to be WAY expensive and just ended up using the ivory linens JT provided for me.
5. We took home extra food from the VH which was a lot and amazing! We didn't take home any of the dinners or anything but then again we didn't ask for that. But a lot of the dessert came home with us and my dad said he ate it all for DAYS!
6. We didn't have a sign in book or anything but in the Penthouse Room we had the cake set up behind us on the brides side of the room. I'm guessing they would put the book over there but that's just a guess.
HTH and if you have anymore questions I'd be happy to help. Just try to breathe and everything will be ok. JT is GREAT with answering questions and helping you work out everything.
