Jericho Terrace menu selection HELP!!!

I am meeting w/JT on Friday to finalize our menu. FH and I are having problems in selecting our menus as the pasta, appetizer and so on. Can any previous/current JT brides help us out as to what was your selection. Thanks a lot

lol! im having the same problem.. but with the steak! filet mignon sounds more 'expensive' but the ny strip steak is a lott bigger and a steak eater would def choose the strip over the filet... thats My dilemma!

app.. mozzarela di luna is if u wanna play it safe.. but the frutti de mare is what im going to choose cuz most of my guests would prob enjoy that a lot more. def no eggplant cuz of the anchovies.. BLECH

as far as pasta:def the penne with bacon.. the 1st choice has onions and ppl would prob steer away form that..atleast the women..

and salad.. of course greek. lol

I have to disagree here... I LOVEE steak and id rather have a super tender piece that is smaller than one that is bigger and tougher... JMO Plus, theres tons of food at a wedding so the entrees dont have to be huge

I want to choose the the fruitti di mare, but fh is allergic to seafood and i am afraid a lot of guest too, so am gonna play it safe and choose di luna, but I really want the other one. whic is the pasta that has bacon?

I agree with Gina. I am also getting married at JT and FH and I both agree that we'd rather have a juicy filet mignon than the shell steak. There is going to be tons of food at the CH that people shouldnt be STARVING by the time dinner comes along.

lol well just in my opinion...even on a normal night- I would totally get a filet over a shell steak any day lol There are also appetizers before dinner as well

At your menu appointment, do they give you ALL of the choices? Or are they the same choices they give you in the JT binder we got when we first booked?

We are getting married at Jericho too! We haven't done anything about our menu yet.. but we too are definately getting the filet mignon it's a much nicer quality of steak even if it's not as big!! Good luck!! did u go for a food tasting?

Re: Jericho Terrace menu selection HELP!!!

Here is what we had and the HONEST feedback we got:

Butterfly Shrimp: DELICIOUS!!! This was hands down the best dish

Salmon: Very Good (this is what I ate)

Chicken: Mixed Reviews. Some people said it was too dry.

Steak: Again, Mixed Reviews Some people said it was the best steak they ate and others said it wasn't 'that great'. DH had the steak and he LOVED it!!!!

We only had 5 options because I couldn't see anyone ordering duck or that other stuff and people were still impressed that we had so many choices. Honestly EVERYONE raved about JT's cocktail hour and said it was SOOO AMAZING!! Most of your guests will definitely fill up by then!!

OH yes, we also had the penne ala vodka for pasta (and I heard it was delicious); greek salad for the salad course (again, great reviews) but I have to say that the BIGGEST hit of the night was dessert. I didn't get a chance to eat it but I heard that the wedding cake and the ice cream cannoli was to die for!!!!!

Re: Jericho Terrace menu selection HELP!!!

we did the NY strip steak b/c 'most' real steak eaters prefer that type of cut - considering guests still had 8 other choices it made sense to pick that type of steak for the meat eaters and the people who only prefer filet mignon (like myself b/c im not a big eat meater) still had so many other things to choose from....

honestly, whether you get the filet or strip its still catering hall steak and it won't be nearly as delicious as a steakhouse steak would be - its catering hall food - we got married at jt so i dont mean that in a bad way but to me its still just catering hall food and not as good as if you had restaurant food - i dont think you can ever compare real steakhouse steak to catering hall steak kwim?

Personally I did Filet Mignon bc I am not crazy about steak at catering halls.

For appetizer I did Meza di luna although I am a huge seafood lover, i didnt do the fruitt di mare bc i felt we already od'ed with the seafood. We did the seafood bar at CH also at CH had Zuppa De pesce, paella, also another big seafood thing plus seafood again on entree choices. We had way too much seafood at CH as it was, so I went with something different.

For pasta we did the Duet actually which was risotto and i guess regular marinara pasta, or was it vodka lol i am drawing a blank.

We have steak at least once a week for dinner. We have all different varieties, but filet mignon is my absolute favorite. FH says that filet mignon has the least amount of flavor (maybe that's why i like it, haha). Anyway, if you ask a girl...they will say hands down that filet mig. is the best. If you ask a guy, they will say ny strip. But like other posters said...people will be STUFFED by the end of CH. Nobody will even have the appetite for a big meaty steak.

I am gonna choose the filet mignon. I wanna go w/the Mezza di luna, but we are also doing a lot of seafood at the CH, also I am afraid that some of our guest will be allergic to clams. Maybe they will give me and my dad Mezza di luna, LOL doubt it.
