Jericho Terrace review

Jericho Terrace review

Went to my cousin's wedding there on Sat. The place was really nice as you drive up to it with the brick driveway and the waterfall. Once inside we had to wait in a long hallway for the CH to begin. There were ponds in there with huge goldfish. The CH room was fairly big there was enough tables for everyone, noone was standing, which in my parents eye's is a good thing. The only thing I didn't like about the CH was the lines. There was only one waiter/waitress per 5 trays, which made the lines really long and slow. She has a sign in book but not too many people were signing it, and pictures of the bride and groom's parents wedding, that was a really nice touch. The food was pretty good especially the lemon chicken, and my fiancee especially enjoyed the pasta station.
We were then lead into the dining room, which there was a lot of up and down steps, that was pretty annoying but i guess because my shoes bothered me. The room was huge, I was told there was about 240 guests. We were all the way in the corner, I couldn't see anything, especially when they walked into the room. The high centerpieces were gorgeous, they consisted of mainly white roses in which someone could take home the whole centerpiece. We started with an antipasto dish which was ok, the fresh mozarella wasn't what i expected it to be. Then we had pasta that was really good expect that it was too salty. The lemon ice before the meal was really good I believe everyone at the table ate it. I ordered jumbo shrimp for my meal it was really good. My fiancee has just plain grilled chicken he said that was also very good. My cousin had the long island duck which he kept talking about that he loved. The two best parts of the wedding was the slideshow of pictures of the bride and groom from child to dating, it was really a very sweet touch. Also the vietnesse hour was awesome, except that the chocolate fountain wasn't working, there was chocolate there it just wasn't flowing, what a bummer!! The best part is when it flows. They also had candy apples, ice cream, all different cakes and pastries, fresh cannoli cream with cannoli's that they stuffed in front of you and to top it all off bags to take home the yummy stuff in. I did see some other people from another wedding party but it wasn't that bad, and I did see the other bride when we were leaving. The valet service was kinda slow and there really was no organization but then again what valet parking does, it really wasn't that packed which was a good thing.
I'm very tired so I dont' know if I answered everyone's questions, if you have more questions feel free to ask.

With 240 people, did it seem too overcrowded in the dome room or was it fine?

Thanks for taking the time to post so much! I'm a little concerned about my guests having to walk up and down stairs so much (My ceremony is there too), but c'est la vie! It'll help them work off the cocktail hour.

Yes did do have an elevator..

I think it's just a service elevator, though (in the kitchen?). I'm trying to remember, because I do have a disabled guest.

Vinny told me we could use it.

ETA: They need to have a ramp or elevators for wheelchairs. Its the law.

I was at the same wedding and everything was truly stunning. All of the food was amazing- I had the duck and FH had the veal. I was honestly impressed by everything but I do agree with the small gripes from above (slow lines during CH and valet). Overall though, we had such an awesome time- and 240 fit in the dome room without any problem- there was even plenty of dancing room!

If it was me - I would skip the valet parking. The lot is RIGHT there and the lines for the cars waiting on Jericho Turnpike IMO is dangerous. Do they have another parking lot besides the one around the building?

The elevator is at the end of the hall...it definitely works since my guests used it to get to my room (on the bottom floor). It's not a service elevator.
