i was wondering about bailey as well - hope he is ok!

So did not go well. But thank you for asking

He was supposed to go in to get his teeth cleaned and potentially surgically remove a 'couple' teeth if they were infected (poodles teeth are very bad).

They quoted me approx $500 for the whole thing anethesia and everything.


Dropped him off 9:30am.
Told to call at 3pm.
Called at 3pm 'he's not done yet, call back at 4'
Called at 4pm 'he's still in surgery, pick him up by 5 because that's when we close'


okay so I go in at 5pm.

I ask 'how did it go?'

Front desk lady 'he's a little cranky because of the extractions'

Me: 'oh he had to have teeth removed.'

her: 'yup'

me: how many?

her: 22

me: what?????

her (really nasty now): 22

me: what?!? does he have any teeth left? how will he eat?

her (super nasty): he has 3 left. he'll live.

so I started crying because my dog is only 5lbs. and he's my baby and these people yanked 22 teeth out of his head and left 3... ARE YOU FUKCING KIDDING ME?!? why bother????

So here I am crying and she tells me my bill is $2,989.63

WHAT??? so I FLIPPED. totally flipped out. Crying, yelling.

then the stupid bithc comes out and says 'you need to get your dog out of the cage yourself, he's the nastiest little dog'

I'm like 'excuse me?'

she goes 'he is so nasty and bad tempered, he keeps trying to bite me!'

SERIOUSLY???? HE'S 5 POUNDS.. AND NOW HE HAS NO TEETH AND YOU'RE TELLING ME HE'S NASTY AND YOU CAN'T HANDLE HIM?

not to mention when I did go get him out of the cage - I thought he was dead. He wasn't moving - I had to shake him! and she's saying he's vicious! insane!

omg I got in the car yesterday sobbing.

my poor dog had 22 teeth yanked from his head. he's in so much pain. I didn't go to work today to take care of him.. he's sleeping with his head up in the air because it's too painful for him to put it back down.

I'm so upset I don't know what to do.

omg poor little baby!! I can not believe they took out that many teeth at once and youre saying hes cranky!? i would have told that b i t ch let me pull all your friggin teeth out and see how happy you are!

and hes going to bite you? with what? you took as his teeth!!

did they give you anything for him? I hope he feels better :( poor lil pup pup :( :( :(

ooo btw i have a schitzu and they told me when we had her girly parts taken away that if the dogs baby teeth didnt fall out they would remove them, but they didnt bc they said she was good.


but to remove 22 teeth is just amazing to me.

If possible, i would see if you can bring her to another vet just to be looked at incase

trust me, you're dog will be ok. i actually just brought my dog in last month. i had the same issue... she's only 6 lbs and she had lost a few teeth prior and they extracted another 15 teeth.

unfortunately for little breeds, losing their teeth is a genetic disorder. there are plenty of dogs that survive w/o teeth... but from this point fwd, just feed him soft food. no more cookies and no more hard bones to chew on.

your dog will get used to it.. and honestly, all dogs just swallow their food instead of chewing.. so it's all the same to them.

i'm so sorry this happened to your dog. i cried too when i found out... but after my doggy finished her medication, she's all fine now. but she did sleep with her head up for a few days.

and to top it off, i also got her spayed that day. so she had a double surgery.

oh, and btw, the amount that you were charged is OUTSTANDING!

my baby had a lot of teeth removed as well as getting spayed and i paid less than half your bill and they also kept her overnight.

i'd check your contract ... if they quoted you at $500.. for everything, maybe it's written down and you can fight it.

I don't even know what to tell you to do, but I'm so angry for you! I'd definitely want to complain to someone. And I certainly wouldn't want to pay that $3K bill. That's crazy.

I hope he feels better soon though

Aww I'm so sorry. I have a little dog too and she is like my child. I can't believe they would take 22 teeth out at one time, that sounds crazy to me. And that vet bill

OMG Jess I'm sorry about Bailey. They should have called you or something stating they were going to take that many teeth out. And what a B*tch for the desk person. She must have wanted to go home and could care less about your situation.
