My FMIL told me to wear fake but I am wearing my real ones.. she told me she went on a cruise a few years ago and wore a fake engagement ring instead of her real one b/c she was afraid she would loose it.. and one night at dinner some girl was like can I see you ring?? its gorgeous!! and started giving her bf dirty looks!!! every time she saw my fmil on the boat she would be like can I see your ring again? it cost alot didnt it!! I want one just like it!! FMIL didnt want to tell her it only cost $20

My sis got the an exact copy of her wedding band (a fake of course) from the flea market and wore that on her honeymoon. I thought it was a great idea so you dont have to worry about going swimming, losing it or even someone stealing it .

I left my ering in the hotel safe if i went snorkeling though.

Regarding Safes - I was watching a TV program about Vegas and Scams.. One of the hotel managers said to NEVER leave your Jewelry in the safes.. This made me freak out because thats what I planned on doing while i'm snorkeling, etc.. Now I dont know what to do!!! I'm all worried now

I dont want to wear my rings in the water incase I loose it, and I dont know if its safe to wear in salt water..

what to do???

Any newlyweds have a suggestion?? What did you do?? HELP!!

I've left my jewelry (diamond studs, diamond solitaire) in the hotel room safe before - without any problems.

If you're concerned, you could put them in the hotel safe I suppose...but I think the room safes are, well, safe.

Agreed. I wore mine on our HM, and have worn my ering on other vacations. Just dont go swimming w. them, the water can make them loose. I left mine in the hotel safe when I went to the pool or beach.

I always wore my wedding band during the HM but was careful when I was in the water. I left my engagement ring in the room during the day, but wore it at night.

I am bringing it, but we are not going to a beach.
Still I think I would anyway. It is insured and I would feel naked without it.

I brought my rings on my honeymoon but, we left them in our safe during the day. I am so glad we did...this is a true story - when we were on Kuai we went on a snorkling boat trip. While snorkling, one girl on the trip with us lost her wedding band in the water! I think alot of brides to be lose weight right before their wedding so their rings are a little loser...i know mine was! I was a little worried about leaving them in the safe but, it worked out.

gee. i hadn't thought about this
i will probably most likely wear them on my honeymoon...if we're planning a day of intense water activities then maybe i'll leave them in a safe on the boat.

ETA: my FH says do not bring engagement ring...maybe even get a fake band to wear for the duration of the trip.

Where are you going on your honeymoon>>> I am sure the hotel will have a safety box in the room. If not ask for one. You can wear your rings in the water.... I would most likely stay away from the hot tubs because of all the chemicals. Pool have chemicals too, but not as much

I got engaged Labor Day weekend and my FH and I went to Jamaica a couple of weeks later for our friends wedding. Even though the ring was insured he didn't want me to take it, so I left it at home. My friends brother-in-law lost his wedding band on the trip!
I have every intention of wearing my rings on the HM. I also like the idea of getting a fake, but my ring is all filigree (sp) and I haven't been able to find anything like it.
