Re: jewelry parties
I hosted a Lia Sophia one back in December. I had about 10 women there, and we had a great time. I ended up get about 15 pieces of jewelry either for free or discounted (I paid a total of about $200).

Re: jewelry parties
Cookie Lee is great. It's not as popular b/c it's just heading to the east coast -- very popular on the west coast. The jewelry is also much more affordable than other jewelry vendors. The most expensive item is around $40 -- good for this economy. It's also very good quality.
Let me know if you want more info. Just FM me : ) You can find the catalog at www.cookielee.com

Re: jewelry parties
I had a Lia Sophia party in 2006. I'm really happy with the pieces I got, and everyone had a great time. I got a ton of stuff for free. I did have a group of guests, however, that complained that for the money you're not even getting sterling silver, it's surgical or stainless steel, so that group didn't buy anything.
Then just last year I was invited to a Cookie Lee party and it was very affordable! They had more fashion pieces, I was happy with the stuff I got there also.
