Jewish Brides

Did anyone do the 7 blessings and if so, did/are you having 7 different people read them or just have the rabbi read them??

We are doing the sheva brauchot. We decided to have the rabbi do them all because it would draw out the service too much if we had 7 different people come up for them. The thought is nice, in reality it would just be too time consuming. Instead we are honoring people by letting them sign our Ketubah and marriage certificate.

We were thinking of asking my Grandfather to do a blessing, but in the end we just had the Rabbi do them all. Of the other Jewish weddings I've been to, the Rabbi also read all the blessings.

We are not doing the blessings, but if we did, we would have the rabbi read it.

we had an interfaith ceremony, but the seven blessings was a jewish tradition we incorporated into the ceremony.

and we had a different person read each blessing.

i have a lot of cousins and wanted a way to include them .... it was perfect for that.

when my friend got married last year, they also had different people read the blessings. i remember i was so honored when he asked me to read, it really does make your guests feel special to be a part of the day!

we met with the rabbi last night and he told us it was our call. I too think it will be a nice way to include more people in our wedding other than the BP and the ketubah signing. I think we are going to do it, just need to figure out who to include without hurting anyones feelings

We are having half of them read in Russian by FH mom, dad, and brother and the rest read in English by my mom dad and sister.

Our rabbi is reform though, and FH and I are about as religious as string beans.
