Re: jewish brides
we paid our Rabbi $700,but he called it a fee. He said if it was difficult to talk to him about it, but I couldn't see doing that -- if we could have a wedding at a RH, we can pay the Rabbi! He performed the ceremony at the RH. I think 700 is the low-end of average for Rabbi fees.

Re: jewish brides
that's a nice way of saying fee. most clergy would call it an honorarium instead and have set 'fees' they charge

I think our 'donation' is $550 or $600.

Re: jewish brides
We had a fee, I would imagine it's the same thing but makes him look better if he calls it a 'donation'. Our fee was $700.
Our 'donation' was an actual donation. My Rabbi gave us the name of a charity and we made a donation in his name (about $600 dollars). We gave an additional $100 directly to my Rabbi to cover his travel fees.

Re: jewish brides
we are donating 500 to the Rabbi Discretionary Fund. He never told us how much, he said if we wanted to that is where he would like the money to go
