I have been to Jewish rehearsal dinners, but I don't know if it's a 'thing' or not.

Were jewish, and I honestly don't think being Jewish has anything to do with it. I've heard 'Jews don't have RDs', but I quickly dismiss ignorant statements like that.

As far as I'm concerned, if you feel like you need a RD, have a RD. What difference does it make if you're Jewish, catholic, Irish, or whatever...

My MOH had one and she is Jewish. Also, my cousin in FL is having one for her wedding at the end of March. I never heard of our people (lol) specifically not having them. I am not having an actual rehersal but we are having a dinner, luckily my FILs are hosting it.

I say its a way to kick off the weekend of celebration. It is espcially nice if you have OOT family or parts of your wedding party, more time to spend with them.

I think it's less common, but I'm having one. It will be nice to have dinner with those closest to us the night before.

Thanks, yeah we were thinking of just calling it a Dinner.... it actually is more of a non-Jewish thing, because all my Catholic friends are telling me that they use this time to actually go to the church and REHEARSE before the dinner, whereas we can't do that because we aren't getting married in a church.

We don't have 'Rehearsal Dinners' per say because there is nothing to rehearse, however, there is nothing wrong with having a dinner to celebrate the night before!

We are just having a dinner for OOTers, but when you think about it - how can you rehearse signing the marriage license :)

I have never heard of Jewish people not doing RD haha! guess I am really off. We are having a RD without the R part.. Just will be nice to get the Bridal party and close family together to begin the celebration.
