Jewish Brides (also on BHB)

Jewish Brides (also on BHB)

I have Ketubah questions!

1. Where did you order from? I am looking at Ketubah.com
2. Did you have the personalization done? FH and I are in disagreement about this -- He thinks it looks more personal if you fill in the blanks by hand -- he said the more handwriting, the more personal it looks. I'm not sure if it will just look messy.
and finally,
3. Which text option did you use? I am probably going to do reform.

Thanks in advance! #2 is the most important right now.

1. I think I am ordering it from the Zion Lion.

2. I am not hand writting anything in. I am giving them all of the info and they fill it in.

3. Interfaith (for obvious reasons).

We finally picked out our Ketubah, but didn't order it yet. Our Rabbi told us which text to get, so I would check with the person who is marrying you. We are also getting it handwritten, it looks very nice when it's personalized.

My Rabbi suggested not to order online, so we'll be getting it from a Judaica store, Yussels Place in Merrick or LI Judaica in Cedarhurst.

Ask your Rabbi about the text. My Rabbi is Orthodox and strict as to what we can get/not get, regarding text and the look of the Ketubah. The text will be Orthodox but it will also have English on it.

I dont think we are having it personalized when we order it. Dont worry, It wont look messy when you fill it in if the person writing it has neat handwriting.

We ordered ours directly from Nishima Kaplan, our artist (it was also available through ketubah.com, but we had more customizing options through the artist directly). Her web site is artketubah.com.

We spoke with our Rabbi regarding wording, and Nishima faxed the hebrew and english wording to both me and the rabbi for proofing. We had ours done on canvas, which looked gorgeous!
