Jewish brides--Chuppah

Apparantly Woodbury CC does not have a chuppah. How difficult is it for the florist to make it? How expensive is it? Thanks

Re: Jewish brides--Chuppah

I think most brides get their chuppah from their florist.. I don't have an itemized contract from my florist- but I am guessing from other proposals that I got, it represents about 1/3 to half of my total flower budget, depending on how elaborate you get.

So, I would add that on to whatever costs you received already.

Re: Jewish brides--Chuppah

You get chuppas from your florist and they're about $400 and up. I paid $550 for mine.

Talk to the Rabbi. He may know a cheap place to rent one.

Re: Jewish brides--Chuppah

I'm not jewish but FH is and I really love the signifigance of the chuppah so we are getting married under on...The coral house provides one..along with aisle runner and baskets for about 475 or so...so I dont think they are much more than that!

Re: Jewish brides--Chuppah

I was quoted prices that ranged between $800-$1000 for a traditional one. Although, some florists will let you borrow the 4 poles for free (or very little money) that you can attach your own fabric to and ask people to hold the poles for you during the ceremony.

Another option is to make your own, if you don't want to spend a lot of money and are handy. People say it is pretty easy. You can do an online search and will find lots of ideas. I was looking into it originally, before I admitted that I am not a 'do it yourself' kinda person.
