Jewish Brides, please come in, I have questions

Jewish Brides, please come in, I have questions

A few questions for you:

We are very reform, but still want to keel some traditions.

1) What songs are you using for your ceremony/cocktail hour? What pieces did you hire to play those songs?

2) The Rabbi we are using gave us a sample of a ceremony. We would like to change it around a little because my brother and SIL used the same Rabbi and we don't want it to be the same ceremony. Any suggestions on what can be added, besides the 7 blessings. Not the hand ceremony. Are there any readings, or poems that you've added?

3) Our florist is new, and doesn't have a chuppa to rent. Any suggestions on party rental places that will rent a chuppa?

4) Where are you getting your yarmulkes?

Thanks

to answer your q's...

We are using all contemporary music in our ceremony- with the exception of the recessional- which is the 'mazel tov' song.. I liked the tradition of it..

For our ceremony- we wrote letters to our cantor-- he will use what we said candidly to frame what he will say- but also, take excerpts from these letters.. My brother did this and it was very touching.

Not a clue on the chuppah- your florist should be able to build you one with your flowers, etc.

We used Israeli music for our processional. The bridal party walked down to 'Erev Shel Shoshanim' and I walked down to 'Al Kol Eileh'. I can't even think of which pieces we had playing them...it was included with my band!

We kept our ceremony very traditional and didn't add anything. I circled Brad 7 times at the beginning of the ceremony, which many brides opt not to do.

You can get a chuppah from Yussels in Merrick.

My yarmulkes were included with the hall, but I know many people used yarmulkes.com

the ceramony music is going to be included by my band, i'm also having the cantor sing a alittle, if your having one.

i'm also doing 7 time walk... it depends on what you want to do. my wedding is conservative, so i really don't know how reform ceramonys are.

your florist should make huppa with tool, poles and flowers

most judica stores have yamakas... it all depends on what you want to spend.

any more questions feel free fm me.
