I am getting married at my hall. My question is, should I provide Yamaka's for the guests in case they wanted to wear them?
Did not know how that works, since I am not getting married in a Temple.
Thank you

Re: JEWISH BRIDES - QUESTION?
We are providing the Yamaka's for all the guests. At my three of my sister's weddings they were responsible for providing them. All of them were (including myself) were married at the reception location.

Yeah, most folks do provide yamulkes. we're probably going to, even though we're doing ours at a shul.

Re: JEWISH BRIDES - QUESTION?
yes we did... we had to order alot (200) and got a great deal at
Zion Judaica www.zionjudaica.com
They are also located in Brooklyn if you want to go directly to the store.
And just to add a little rave about them... I had completely forgotten that the Jewish Holidays were upon us (the month before the wedding) and thought I had time to order them, but apparently not because many places weren't accepting orders for close to 3 weeks. Zion Judaica had my 200 yarmulkes to me within a week! We also purchased our ketubah from them, as they had a beautiful selection and were very inexpensive.

Re: JEWISH BRIDES - QUESTION?
Perfect - Thank you
One more question and might be a stupid one, does the color represent anything? My colors are black and red, so if I got either would that be ok for a wedding? or do you just go with a cream or white?
Thanks, I am learning

My colors were brown with hints of gold an ivory, I went with the brown yarmulkes which matched the BM's dresses.

I have another question - What color Yamaka's will you be providing? I have seen wedding pictures where mostly white is used and I have also seen other different colors used.
Thanks

Re: JEWISH BRIDES - QUESTION?
yes, u're having a jewish ceremony so u should provide yarmulkes
We're also getting married at or RH, and will be providing yarmulkes. We'll most likely get 7 dozen (for approximately 150 guests) in cream or silver... I've heard very good things about this place, so we're going to order from them...ebay has decent prices as well...

Hey D,
it's awesome that you're asking. As some of us Jews say, Good on you!
Generally speaking, I don't think people do a red yamulke all that often, b/c if you do the satin ones, well, it looks like everyone's in the college of Cardinals. Other than that, I think anything would work, black ones are often done, as are other colors. My FW (the mets fan) even got me a navy blue yankees kippah.
hope that helps!

Like I said above, aside from Red, you could do anything with them. I've seen satin, suede/leather, and even some beautiful knitted ones here:

Thank you so much I ordered black ones to play it safe. Now that you mention the cardinal thing, I am glad I did not get the red
