For those of you who are getting married in a temple...is the rehearsal the night before your wedding or a few hours before your ceremony. I was always under the impression you had it the night before...now I'm hearing otherwise. Just wondering what others were doing, if there are any of you out there

Re: Jewish brides question
I'm not Jewish...but I just did a search on Jewish wedding traditions and was unable to find any site that said either way. I would imagine its up to the way the temple and rabbi schedule it. I imagine if you had an idea...they would try to accomodate...we are doing our rehearsal the night before.

Re: Jewish brides question
Were not getting married at a temple, but we are doing our ceremony rehearsal 2 days before. I dont think theres a 'rule' on when to do it, it depends pretty much on when the temple is available to have a rehearsal. Were not dong it the day before b/c i want to relax the day before my wedding lol.

Re: Jewish brides question
Yes, we are getting married on a saturday night. But it's a reform temple, so i was hoping they would do it before sundown on Friday like around 5pm.

Re: Jewish brides question
I'm, not a Jewish , yet (I'm converting) and so far 2/2 Rabbi's we met w/ said that they will not be @ the Rehersal & one of them told me,' A rehersal is to practice eating'
I tried to explain that I have never seen a Jewish Ceremony , mine will be my first, and I really want to practice first, I was given the dates& other info, to go & witness other Jewish couples ceremonies

Re: Jewish brides question
Most Jewish couples don't do a rehearsal. I've only heard of a dinner the night before.

Re: Jewish brides question
We're having a jewish wedding but not at a temple.. we're meeting with the rabbi 6 months before and seeing if we need a rehersal (idk if Russo's would let us..good qstion there). I don't think jewish weddings get a rehersal.. I only heard of a dinner the night before the wedding.
But imo it's up to the rabbi and the temple.

Re: Jewish brides question
a friend of mine had a sat night temple wedding. she did her rehearsal on thurs evening.
it would be inappropriate to do a rehearsal on a friday late afternoon/early evening b/c it is so close to shabbat starting.
i had a sun twilight wedding and we did our 'rehearsal' about 40 mins before the ceremony.
