Jewish brides with remarried parents

Jewish brides with remarried parents

If your parents are both walking you down the aisle, how are their spouses getting to their seats before the ceremony?

Are your parents escorting their spouses to their seats before the ceremony and then leaving to walk you down the aisle, or do you have other people escorting the spouses to their seats?

OMG thanks for posting...i was wondering the same thing and was going to ask my rabbi his thoughts.

I know this may sound terrible but i am debating on not having my step mom walk down the aisle at all. Im going to have mom and dad give me away of course and that was going to be it (mom is single so thats no concern).

Is that wrong of me to exclude my stepmom? I dont know how else to make it work bc I dont want my dad walking back and forth.

My other thought is to have my step mom walk down the aisle with my grandmother?

DH's parents both walked in with their spouses and then walked back around the side to walk DH down the aisle.

I just asked two friends if they noticed that his mother and father walked down the aisle and then came back up a side, they said they did not! I obviously did not notice either -- we were happy that DH's step parents were also honored by being part of 'the bridal party.'

I just had my mom & dad walk me down ... my dad's wife was sitting the entire time.

Note that i'm not close with her at all - my parents got divorced when i was 18 and my dad remarried a few years after that so i was already an adult and never though of her as a stepmother. not sure if that matters to you at all but i figured i'd share

Haha, no I agree completely. That's why I call them my parents' spouses and not step-parents.

I expect they will be seated before the actual ceremony starts, but I have a feeling my dad's wife will complain if my dad doesn't escort her
