Jewish brides....I need your help

I'm having a traditional chuppah where 4 people will be holding it up. Can a non jewish person hold it up. We're having a reformed rabbi.

I believe they have to be jewish, but you should ask your Rabbi. See what he says.

I dont think so, but ask your rabbi. Also, princessrose did the same thing, so you can FM her and ask.

REFORM Judaism usually makes more allowances than the others, I'd still ask a Rabbi though. I do know that only a Jewish person (not related by blood) can sign your Ketubah as a witness.

No, chuppah holders do not need to be Jewish. Only ketubah witnesses do.

I don't think there's any restriction (whether you're reform, conservative, whatever) on chuppah holders because they don't have any religius role in the ceremony, it's just an honor position. To be sure ask the rabbi, but I am 90% sure they don't have to be jewish.

You will, as mentioned earlier need 2 jewish people (usually men) who are not realted to you or each other to act as witnesses. ALso, keep in mind that you can usually getting away with having these tewo fficial witnesses, but still letting your MOH and BM sign IN ADDITION, if you'd like them to.
