Jewish Gals??? I NEED HELP!!

I was just invited to my frist Rosh Hashanah din din...and I wanted to bring something traditional to the house...what can I bring???

These are VERY close friends of mine and I would LOVE to do something special for them.

Bring something sweet, preferably with honey in it. Depending on how Jewish they are, i.e., whether they're very strict about only serving kosher things, you could bring a nice sweet wine or even a dessert wine and some dessert. Taglach (sp?) is a traditional dessert, with little balls of dough, dried fruit, and honey, all piled together in a mound. If you live anywhere near a kosher bakery, they'll have plenty. Regular bakeries would probably have some, too.

It's very sweet of you to want to do something meaningful to the holiday!

Jan...

Thank for the idea!! I happen to live in a very jewish area...so I'm sure I'll be able to find a bakery that sells that.

Yeah, I am so excited about this. I happen to be catholic, but I LOVE the idea of seeing other cultures/traditions... plus these guys mean a lot to me so I am honored to celebrate their special day.

Thanks again!

No problem! It's a happy holiday to be celebrating, so at least you don't have to worry about the sadness that is affiliated with a lot of other Jewish holidays. I'm sure your hosts will appreciate whatever you bring!

You can bring a bottle of wine or a nice cake or cookies

Anything sweet, or a noodle pudding , that is always a hit, a sweet noodle pudding that is, flowers, or a nice bottle of Kosher wine.
