Jewish Girls... a little help please (holiday related)

I'm a middle school teacher and each year our school puts on a holiday show. Last year my class got chosen to dance to a Hanukkah song - it basically sounded like a country line dance song with words about Hanukkah. To be quite honest, it was almost offensive and I'm not even Jewish. This year I have the same class again and they want us to do the same dance since the kids already know it. I dont want to do it again since it seemed like it had absolutely nothing to do with the holiday.

Can anyone suggest any upbeat Hanukkah songs that would be easy to choreograph a dance to? Thanks so much to anyone who can help!

Oh, Chanukkah is a nice song. I really like it . Its very upbeat and happy.

I second 'Oh Chanukah' and the 'Dreidel' song. Or you can play the horah and show the kids how to dance in a circle. It's also a good way of showing how many cultures have similar traditions..... at our wedding we danced the horah and tarantella back-to-back to celebrate our Jewish and Italian cultures.

I used to have a Pre-K cassette tape with a song called 'Lotsa Latkes' or something like that.

If you go to a teaching store and check out their holiday song CDs they may have something relevant. Or you can check out a Judaica store and they'll definitely have a bunch of CDs.
