JEWISH girls help me!!

JEWISH girls help me!!

I did not realize how expensive yamulkes and ketubahs were. I didn't budget any money for it... and I'm on the tightest budget.

my rabbi recommended this store in the city and claimed I could find yamulkes for .50 cents a piece and ketubahs for cheap. WELL, I called the place and beyond having a horrible attitude they said the cheapest yamulkes are about 2 dollars a piece and the cheapest ketubah they have is 130 dollars. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me out?

cheapest yarmulke's i found were at SkullCap.com and were $1.85 each (plus about $10 or $15 for shipping) - that price is for suede ones and includes free personalization. You might be able to find cheaper ones that are not personalized

as for ketubah, you can probably find a very cheap one for under $50 if you get a very simple one. I've heard of people getting these through their Rabbi's so i have no idea where else to buy them.

I havent even started looking for yamukahs since i might not be using that many of them (interfaith marriage and FH isnt thrilled abt having to wear one... but i might just make him)

As for the Ketubah you can try Ketubah.com. I know they do have some affordable ones and hopefully you will be able to find one you love with in the budget your looking...HTH

I am having an interfaith ceremony and found some reasonable prices on MPartworks.com for the Ketubah. I believe you can also try going to Yussels in Merrick but I am not sure of their prices.

Ketubahs can be cheap. We saw some for $40 (plus personalization if you want it, most recommend but not a necessity) at Levine Judaica on West 30th. They also have a website (we ended up going with Ketubah Ketubah but just b/c I wanted a certain style).

As for kipahs, these can be pricey. My cousin used the ones from her temple--they were very flimsy white one but served a purpose. Most temples have that kind--can you ask your rabbi (if he belongs to a congregation) where to purchase those? I'd also ask a judaica store where you can order the cheap ones.

I recommend calling Levine Judaica for both items--I called them when I was looking for both items and they were very friendly and helpful.

i think if you google you will find cheaper kippot. http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=cheap+bulk+kippot&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=467c3568f2eec009

i found this site http://www.yarmulkes.com/index.htm seems cheap (72.50 for 5 dozens- w/o shipping). 13.95 per dozen i think they ship from NY and shipping is between 10-15.

also found http://www.koolkipah.com/bulk/index.htm which is 12.95 per dozen -both places are for regular plain satin ones.

Ketubah:

www.mpartworks.com

They are great and FAST and they have budget ketubahs in smaller versions for $99. Google the site and you should be able to find a 10% off code online.

I went to Levine Judaica too. They have everything in stock pretty much and you can find them online for cheaper. MP Artworks has a ton of artists that you should be able to see at Levine (Micah Parker is a big one). They let you go in and look without bothering you, so I would do that and then try to find it online for less.

Yarmulkes:

Best prices and no tax and free shipping depending on what you order:

I shop around for the best deals...kool kipah price matches.

The Rabbi should be able to help you with the ketubah. I spoke with our Rabbi and the concern of the cost and he is ordering us one for like 25 dollars. It won't be elaborate or anything, but we weren't looking for an elaborate one anyway.
