Jewlery Question....Anyone know this stone?

I saw it in the jewelers and loved it to go with my mom's dress

It kind of looks like an emerald, but has a rainbow/purple tone to it. (jewlery lady did not know the mame)

Thanks

No, it was with the emeralds.
And was a deep green like an emerald, but it had a purple tint/irredescent look to it.

no, amethyst is purple. this is more on the green size with a purple tone/irredescent look to it.

Alexandrite??? This stone changes color.

A light green stone can be a tsavorite garnet.

nope....it's deep like an 'Emerald'.

Could it be a rainbow coating??? Is there such a thing.

I saw it in Whitthall Jewlers

They didn't know what it was?????????

Jeez! It's usually cataloged. When you buy something from a jewelry place they should be able to give you a full description of what you bought (For insurance). Type, color, weight so forth. She didn't know ? That's pretty strange. You've got me curious tho. Let me know if you find out!
