I'll put some pictures of Agatha on the bottom, but I need to take some new ones. She's still a kitten and getting bigger all the time. And FLUFFIER all the time. Is Jiffy a Maine Coon? Agatha came from the Hempstead Town shelter so we don't know anything about her other than she only has half a tail. Not that she knows she only has half a tail. She's the most beautiful cat, everyone remarks on her. She's also smart, affectionate, cuddly, and weird in that she LOVES water, comes when called, and follows us from room to room. I've heard that Maine Coons are more like dogs, and she certainly acts like that. I've never seen a cat whose idea of a good time is to play in a sinkful of water before.
I'm sorry, I was just showing my fiance the pictures of Jiffy and when I read the comments I realized Jiffy must have passed on. Oh, I'm so sorry! You must miss your beautiful kitty.

Where do you get cats other than a shelter? I know some people want specific breeds, so you might go to a breeder--I might be tempted to do that next time as I love having a Maine Coon so much. But most people I know just have a basic American housecat. If you didn't get him or her from the pound or a shelter, where else? Friends with kittens, I guess. I saw another kitten, about a month younger than Agatha, at Petsmart a month ago. His name was Huck Finn, he had a brother named Tom Sawyer. Both were up for adoption. If I had a bigger place, and if Agatha actually liked any other animals other than Farm Boy the ferret, I would have brought him home. I felt a connection with Huck. But I can't have another now, and I'm sure someone took him home by now and he was at a no-kill shelter so he wasn't in any danger.
BTW, we made sure to have Agatha spayed when she was the right age, and she's never let out of the house anyway, so there will be no kittens in her future!
