Really? how disappointing!
I went to the one in Times Square and loved it.
I heard the Peter Luger's in Great Neck is so-so that you have to go to the one in Brooklyn. Burton & Doyles in Great Neck is really nice!

Peter Luger in Brooklyn is better than Ruth's Chris IMO....I've eaten at both, and prefer Peter Luger. The decor at Ruth's Chris is nicer though - more modern plus you have to bring cash to Peter Lugers. The Ruths Chris in Weehawken, NJ is nice too- has a great view of the city skyline.

Thanks for the info. We were supposed to go to Ruth Chris's last year for DH's birthday but the inlaws cancelled. His birthday is next month and I wonder if they will suggest the same place again. Maybe we can convince them to go to the city.

I went to Ruth's in DC and it was AMAZING! The one in Garden City wasn't as good. My favorite steakhouse is Bryant and Cooper for food and expense.
IMO Burton and Doyle charge as much but I didn't think their food or service were as good.

Im in the minority but I cant stand Peter Lugers. I dont like their steak, their location, their decor or their attitude.
The food at Rothmans or other NYC steakhouses are so much better. Plus the service and atmosphere are fitting an expensive meal. When I spend a lot, I dont want to have sawdust on the floor

I'm not a huge Peter Luger's (Bklyn location) fan either. While I liked the steak there...the atmosphere, no menu and lack of good service tick me off. It's just a bunch of businessmen showing off to their clients...
If I wanted to eat at a steakhouse, I'd definitely go to Sparks, Ben Benson's...or, for any of you Brooklyn girls out there...in Bay Ridge, a new steakhouse opened up called Austin's...DH and I loved the food, the service and the atmosphere was nice too!
I have a GC to Ruth's Chris...I do want to check it out.
