Job Burnout: anyone else going through this?

I like my job, am paid decently, am treated very well by my colleagues and the higher-ups.

BUT...

I feel so burned out. I never have time to plan anything at work - I jump from one thing to another, with no time to think. I'm getting everything done but am wiped out.

I work from 9-6 now, no lunch, and I just can't give it any more, even though I think just one more hour a day would make it better.

Arrghh...

Yeah, I feel the same. I took today off because it's taking a physical toll on me. I love my job but I have so many people to answer to and then I also have to think about what I feel is best. It's tough. I am so glad it's a short week for me as I seriously need to recharge.

Re: Job Burnout: anyone else going through this?

Wow, I thought this post was made for me, I am going through this. I work 44.5 hours a week, I know not to bad HOWEVER, I am the only one here as far as office assistants, I make a good salary, but not great if you break it down 40 @ reg. pay and 4.5 at OT rate. I get no lunch and can't leave the bldg. I tried to explain that I am not happy, and asked to have my hours reduced and I was given a schedule that was just 2.5 hours less a week with a pay cut. This is still with no lunch, what I mean about no lunch - is eat at desk but still work. If there is a sandwich in my mouth I still have to answer the phone, I go home mentally and physically drained even though my work doesn't not envolve any physical hard labor. Would you take the hour decrease for pay decrease (pay is $70.00 a month) plus I have been here 11 years.

Re: Job Burnout: anyone else going through this?

i know what you're going through, but i don't know what to say.

i hate my job. i even quit back in the beginning of september.. 2 weeks later my manager called me up begging me to come back because i was the only one who knew what they were doing.

i like the people i work with, i just hate the job, the place, and most of the managers. so it sucks. even when i'm only there for like an hour i feel completely drained.

Re: Job Burnout: anyone else going through this?

Ahhh...a post sooo for me. My alarm went off this morning and I was like Are you kidding me?? I seriously laid there for 10 mins. debating to pick up the phone or not and call in. I have a 'guilty' conscious. If im not sick, I wont call. I am just so drained. I am looking forward to this 4 day weekend sooo bad!
And not to mention the kids were off the wall today!
