JOB HOPPING!!

Ok , help me out here!... I graduated in '01 with a BS/MS in Accounting. I've held 4 jobs over the past 4 yrs...1 i was laid off ( thru not fault of my own) and the others I left on my own, cuz of boredom, perhaps... Is this gonna somehow hurt me, like in terms of applying for a mortage and stuff??? I'm just trying to find that job that I really enjoy...perhaps acctg wasnt the best pick...i really want to do soemthing in either entertainment or somethign w/ kids.....

You should be ok as long as you have stayed in your field and show a consistent income stream. Bankers can get very creative with your background as long as your credit is ok. They can also do a no doc loan.

I know I was asked this by the seller of the house we are buying and I plan on asking it to the bidders of our house. The seller's wanted to know how long we have been at our current jobs. I've heard too many stories of mortgages not coming through and seller's getting stuck because so many first time buyers have very litttle to put down. DH and I are selling on our own and we are asking for pre-approval certs and a few questions about the work history of the buyers before we consider bids. Please don't be offended, I have to be honest when I say as a seller I'd be leary unless you were putting down much more than 20%. We have one friend who has had 15 offers on her house fall through because of the buyers mortgages not coming through.

Yup... happens WAY more than people think.

Prime example here.

If you are pre-approved there should be no discussion about your background.
