So here is my dilema. I went on an interview today. And everything sounds great! But I am down to the $$ part! I know not to discuss salary when your are being interviewed the 1st time.
Being that I have full benefits under my husband, how can I put in a professional way to ask for more! I don't want to be too agressive.
This job found me on Craigslist. And the woman that interviewed me really liked me, she wants me to come meet the boss and his assistant tomorrow and everything looks good they want to hire me and I would start next week. I have been unemployed since September and I really want to go back to work!
How can I handle this tomorrow? My interview is at 11am!

When comes time to neg. your salary, you just simply ask 'is that the best they can offer only because I will not be using the company benefits'
Employers might reconsider knowing that they will be saving lots of $$$$ not having someone under their medical. Just feel it out.

It went really well! Since I have no experiance in Life Insurance they couldn't give me allot but tey got me close and after 6 months they will review and if I am doing great they will give me more! It's M-F 8:30-5 with an hr for lunch with 401K.
I filled out some paperwork for a Background check, so I am waiting to hear back from them. I probably should on Monday!

Thanks! I don't think I will know until Monday. As long as the background check goes okay..I shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Congrats. Sounds like you may have gotten the job. I work in Life Insurance and I LOVE it. Is it a big company or a brokerage?

That's what it is a Life Insurance Company. It's for a Receptionist. I am worried that they are gonna find the lawsuit from 5 years ago from my accident and the credit card I am still paying off from the wedding!!!
If I don't get it because of that, there will be other jobs!

They called me yesterday and told me they are just waiting for my background check to come in. They don't think it's gonna be a problem but it's a go. I probably would hear from them today and start tomorrow! I haven't heard yet but I am hoping today!!!!

Good luck. Your background check will only show criminal record.
