So I am working an admin job for the summer because I start grad school in the fall again. I had started a previous job but I hated it and only lasted 2 days. The boss was very nasty and hard to work for. I explained to my boss that the position was not for me and he did not like that I quit. I know they have found a replacement because I have called them to find out about my check for the 2 days that I did work but I have still not received it. It has been over a month. Its not a ton of money- only about $250 dollars but still it's money and I earned it. I have called him and left a message and sent 2 emails so far and I have not heard back. What should I do??

Re: Job question
Is there anyone else you can call besides him like HR?
I wouldn't let it go...yeah it's only 250 but it's illegal for them to just not pay you for work you did
He just proved that he's a pric k

Unfortunately he is the owner of the company so everyone else works for him. And they use an outside payroll company instead of HR (dont even know the name of it). I'm so frustrated...I cant believe I still have not been paid.

Re: Job question
outside payroll.... probably ADP they are huge in the paryroll world.
mmm i know this sound extreme, but you can file a suit in small claims court.
Well first TELL HIM you will file a suit in small claims court with a written letter. be nice but firm, say how many days you worked, the amount owed. say there is no reason this cant be settled without court, but your next step will be to file a claim if you aren't paid
it's like judge judy. no lawyers, it's all of one day.
OF COURSE he wont wanna go, so im sure he will promptly send you your money.
even if you have no intention of filing a claim, he wont know that, threaten him,
small claims is for ANYTHING under $5000

Re: Job question
I would definitely go there in person. Its against the law for them not to pay you.
