Would you stay at a job where you made decent money, but had nothing to do but be bored all day? TRUST ME (anyone who's been there can vouch) it's NOT fun...There is even only so much time a day that a person can stay on LIW...(I know because I'm on it for 9 hours a day...)

essentially you're getting paid to do nothing...yes it's boring, but you're getting paid to do things that benefit you on a personal level (planning your wedding). If you weren't staying anyway, I'd stay in the meantime....till after the wedding.

I would stay at the job until I found another one. I've had jobs before where I had nothing to do all day and I hated it.

I agree - at least stay until after the wedding. Are there any other benefits to take advantage of besides that? Like tuition remission?

I'm in that position right now. It's terrible and I can't plan my wedding here because I can't bring in my favors to wrap. I can't make a lot of personal calls and when I do, they have to be brief. And sometimes I swear I can feel my butt spreading and my brain softening.

I got the same prob. I sit in front of 2 computer screens all day. One is work and one I surf. If Im not doing work I surf. i check out and watch whats going on here. Ijust was talking with my SIL the other day about changing jobs, cause I am bored 4 yrs doing thre same thing. I like change. But money is so-so. It pays my bills. and thats what counts. To answer your question are you the type of person who likes change? if you dont like change and pay is good stay. JMO

Today is my last day at a job like this. I've been here for 5 years. I can't believe they paid me to do pretty much nothing for that long.
It was great though - I was going to school p/t and I got all of my homework, papers, etc. done at work. I've been planning my wedding, I printed all the envelopes for my invitations here.
You should try to hang in there as long as possible and be as productive as possible!

Not to be drear...But I get home after 6...There's little time to do much...We try to make all our wedding-related appointments for 7 or later...And then that's it...I'm left to go back home and go to sleep and start it all over again in 8 hours.
I would NEVER quit my job until I had another one...And I'm not scared of change...I'm just not motivated or aggressive(it's hard to be when you don't know what you want)---this has not served me well through the years...

I know how you feel - I am soooo bored at work lately - well the last 6 months have been slow here. But - I've been here 12 years, its a county job and the money is good - benefits even better. At this point - I need the security - so sadly - I really cant leave.

My FW is in the same 'I don't know what I want boat'. If thats the case... you are better off staying where you are comfortable for now (that pays well) until you think about it further.
If you were making jack... then I would look to move quicker.
The biggest thing is motivation. Without this... its not going to work.

Oh thats my job right now!! I can't wait to leave it! I am so bored and I feel so worthless! At first it was a blessing now its just hell! Also considering I am the only one in the lab at night!!
