Did you contest the write up? You should write a letter contesting the write up and tell them that you want it in your employment file.

Update: I got written up the other day, for some totally bogus ish. It is my first written warning (ever in my life, actually), and it says that the next instance is termination. They are trying to cover their asses. I am freaking out, I will be so f*cked if I lose this job. I am praying that I can work some OT and get all my ish accomplished so that they have no reason to can me, but they are trying real hard. I just need a few more months...
My last job fired me at 38 weeks pregnant...same thing, they found some bs thing to fire me for, when in reality, they just realized that they could pay someone WAY less than me to do my same job (it wasn't rocket science, I had just been there a bunch of years, so I made more money).
It was the best thing that ever happened to me, I got unemployment for 5.5 months and then found a new job at a better place.

The good thing is I control the employee files, including my own. I have copies of everything. Issue: The write up sites a specific issue, am I to assume that the threat of termination is only applicable for that exact issue? They can't find something else they don't like and fire me bc they wrote me up for this other thing? I know they can fire me whenever they want, but I know they are trying to cover their asses... It's really so bogus. And there are specific commnts that are completely wrong, and I can prove. So I will comment about that. I still haven't signed it.

Worst case situation: you get fired, get unemployment, enjoy life for a while, find another job.
I wouldn't want to work for such a-holes. But don't quit! Hold out for the termination.
