Re: John Anthony's

My sister went there and loved the place. However the manager was rude to her so she decided not to book. I think something is going on with them now. If I am not mistaken, they are being bought by someone. One of the girls just cancelled her wedding there.

When I was engaged in '97, I was booked there. The food is very good and it has a nice decor. The only downside that I can remember is there arent alot of places inside to take pics.

they were taken over by the owners of terrace on the park.
I know two people who got married there and they said it was fantastic.

I've been wondering the same thing! Any renovation work being done there yet? Do they have a website? Is the food good? I need help. Any JA's brides out there?

We're having our wedding at John Anthonys. I met with Daisy...she is AWESOME! We got a good deal. They were just taken over by the owners of Terrace of the Park and NY Pretzel. They should be starting rennovations soon if not already. Scheduled to be finished by March. It's so nice!!!

I am also getting married at John Anthonys. We booked when they were in the middle of the ownership changing. They were bought over by the Makkos family who own Terrace on the Park, NY Pretzel, & the Battery Garden Restaurant. We got an amazing deal for evrything we are getting-a 6 hour reception, viennese hour, wok station, ice vodka station, seafood, etc.

I was very nervous about all the changes but everyone keeps telling me this is a good thing. They are putting a lot of money into the hall & it will only get better. They have not started renovations b/c they are still waiting on the town of Babylon to grant the permits.

I also met with Daisy & loved her! My FH & I went to a wedding there in 1999 and loved it. Just keep your fingers crossed!

JA's is getting renovations done???

They just had major interior renovations done when we were going through our planning phases from 2000 into 2001.

What they did was beautiful! Anyone know what kind of changes the new ownership is looking to do???

Any by the way .. we loved our reception there. Food was awesome .. service was great .. definitely very, very happy with them.

Re: John Anthony's

i live on the same block that John Anthony's is on, and i had my prom there in 99. It is pretty ther is a nice view, Unfortunatly they have more than one event at a time, i think there are two. Also just a heads up that there is a fishing tornament that goes on at the dock the last weekend in July and it STINKS! Like fish, i always say that i feel bad for the people getting married here on that weekend, there are a lot of people and fish.
They havent begun any renovations outside. Hope this helps.

We went to a wedding there in May. Although we got lost (and into a car accident on the way aaahhh) we stilll had a great time. the food was great. They actually had a dinner choice where you could pick a steak and chicken combination. the appetizers and dinner were really yummy(we missed the CH due to the stupid car accident) and I thought the room was really pretty (it was upstairs).
