I went to look at it today for my wedding. I was oringinally at the Riveria, but unable to cut my list under 220, and I hear The Riveria would be too tight with that many people. I haven't cancelled the Riveria yet. I just went to look to see the diffrence. Any feedback on Riveria 220 or weddings at John Anthony's would be greatly appreciated. I am so confused!!!!

JA is beautiful. I almost booked my wedding there (I preferred the downstairs room and it was booked already). My friend is getting married there in September.
The food is supposed to be incredible and the staff seemed really nice when I was there.

Re: John Anthony's Opinions please
I'm getting married at JAs in 37 days and they have been great so far. I've heard nothing but raves from so many people.
The Riviera was really nice (expecially the view) but IMO I don't think there is ANY way 220 pp will be comfortable there. They will definately not fit in the cocktail room (if the weather is not good) and you will have people squished all the way in the back corner (which I've heard complaints about) We reallyliked it but were too afraid to have 150 pp there:)
Good Luck

bluesky....Are you inviting 220 to the Riviera, or do you plan to have 220 people at the Riviera?

I love the food at John Anthony's and from my expereince I really don't think that there is any room for that many people at the Riviera.

Bluesky,
I'm having my reception at the riviera and inviting about 205-210-they say about 20% don't show so I'll probably end up with about 180 or less-when i spoke to the people at the Riviera they said that would be great-and my good friend had 220 there last July and said it was perfect-they did some clever seating rearrangements-like putting the DJ up in that little covething where the bride throws the bouquet and added a table over on the dancefloor and it was fine-then again it was a nice day so people were outside-well good luck!!!!

Re: John Anthony's Opinions please
Both places are nice and food is great, however for that amount of people I would stick with John Anthony's, IMO Rivera is too tight for that amount of people and cocktail 'area' if it were to rain, holds 80 people before people are forced into reception area.

Re: John Anthony's Opinions please
We were deciding between Riviera and JAs...we ended up choosing JAs we liked the atmosphere better, it is more bright and open....and price was better
We are only having 100pp so that wasn't a factor for us but I don't think that I would have more than 170 at the Riviera, it just looked too small.
