Joint or Separate Accounts?

How are you handling you finances once you get married?

My mom and dad have everything combined. Most of my friends are completely independent of their men fiancially. I think my FH and I will do a combination of joint and separate bank accounts.

What are you doing? What are the pros and cons?

we already have a joint checking and savings and i have my own savings

We already have a combo of both independent and joint (savings and checking)

FH and I both have things coming and going from our checking accounts every month, Direct Deposit, IRA's and so on, so we will continue with separate checking accounts but we have a joint savings account.
