My friend is wearing this dress in a wedding---she is normally a size 6 but her waist (33) is putting her into a 14 according to Jordan----as you can see, the waist is pretty loose fitting on this dress.
Does anyone know if Jordan runs really small that she should be worried? Should she really order a 14?
however, i do wear a street size 6 and my waist is a 29-30. i ordered a 14 in my eve of milady wedding gown and a 12 in a jim hjelm bridesmaid gown, but it did not fit and i had to put a panel in.
HTH!

Re: Jordan Bridesmaid Dresses--Style 144??
Is the shop telling her to order a 14?
Can you go somewhere that sells Jordan Bridesmaid dresses and have her try one on? One time when I was a bridesmaid they ordered me a size 22 because they said the girls wouldn't fit in anything smaller.... (I wear a size 8 or 10 street size). Plus I'm 5'8 1/2' so they made me order a long size. My dress from the start wound up costing 100 more than everyone else's and then when I got the dress the alterations cost more than the original dress because it literally fell off me. I tried on the sample size twelve and it wouldn't zip past my chest but it wasn't that far off. I should have ordered the size 14 like I wanted to.
Moral of the story is try a dress on if she can (even if it's not the same exact dress) and order what fits. My wedding dress is a 14. It's not fun having piles and piles of expenses added on so others can make money.

Okay this helps. She is calling places to find one to try on (the place where she is ordering from is out of state). Thanks again!

All dressses run small, and they say that the samples are very stretched out from tons of girls trying them on. My sister had to order a plus size (typically an 8 or 10) because of her hip size. Hopefully it all works out.
FYI, they can take the dress in up to 4 sizes so.

my MOH dress for my sisters wedding was a Jordan and they told me to get a MUCH larger size dress! i wear a street size 14/16 in dresses and they told me to get a size 22! i was so scared that it would be so small and i didn't want to ruin anything for my sister so i bought the size 22. they basically had to make me a new dress out of that size and it never fit right because it was cut for a much much larger person to begin with

I would go with what the salon said to order. The will alter the dress to fit right. I wore a jordan for my friends wedding. I was an eight and they made me get a 14. It fit perfect.

I think they do this to get you with the alterations. Like you, my dress never fit right and I felt awful in it. I don't even like to look at pictures that I am in from her wedding. I think unfortunately some salons are not very ethical.
