does the jr. bridesmaid wear the same dress as the bridesmaids or do you get her a different dress. i found a beautiful dress for her but everyone is telling me she's supposed to wear the same as the bm's

you can do whatever you want. Sometimes depending on the age of the Jr. bm's the BM's dress isnt really appropriate or will look/fit right on the Jr BM so you get a different dress. Its really up to you.

They are supposed to wear something similar to the bm dresses but altered for a young lady. say your bm's are wearing strapless, then you jr would wear the same dress but with cap sleeves or straps.

I would definitly put her in the same dress as the other bms. at that age. IMO at that age she should be a regular bm not a Jr.

Yes I agree, 17 is a regualr BM. I have a 16 year old BM. There is a tecnical age for jr bm, I think its 8-14, I forget where I read that.
For girls in that age range it is usally a similar, but more appropriate dress.

My jr. BM is 9 years old. She will be wearing a very similar dressto the other BM. Not the exact same because thy don't come in her size, but very similar.
And I agree that 17 is too old for a JR. Traditionaly I believe they are 14 or under.

Well, we are not sure we are even going to have her-- my FH is very close with one of his cousins (all in in college, we are in our late 20's). His parents won't let him have this one cousin as a groomsmen cause they think his two other cousins will be upset. So, we are having them all as ushers instead. I was thinking of having his one girl cousin as a junior BM so she does not feel left out, but essentially- she will be a female usher. Does that make sense? Any other ideas? Sorry if I hijack the thread : /

she will be 10 at the wedding. i think if she's 17 she should be a bridesmaid.

thats a good idea. the bm dress is strapless, so i didnt think it would be good for her. i forgot that i could have cap sleeves added.

I am having a Jr. BM and she was originally going to wear the same dress but I though this idea was cuter for her.
The first dress is the MOH's Second is the BM and third is the Jr. BM

I have a Jr. BM who is 10 years old and I woulod like her to have the same color gown with a white/ivory bow around the middle. Something to make it a little less grown-up. You know!
