They gave us the Portuguese options when we booked... FH is a pork chop so he had to have some of those options as well.

Thanks for the tip though!

Did you call them or did you get a letter to call and make the appointment.

Re: Jt brides

I spoke with Linda today... I told her my FH works late (he doesn't get home until almost 7) and she made an appt with me at 730. I also went into Dortoni's today and made an appt with them to sample the cake.

For any girls that got a cake from Dortoni's which type did you get??

I was going to ask about the JT cake also, I want to add cake bling, who do I give it to and how do I get the exact measurments of the cake? Are any of you ladies doing that?

Re: Jt brides

Actually being the impatient person that I am, I called up JT and asked them when I should expect the letter. They referred me to Linda and I booked our appt ! She said usually I could of waited for the letter, but it's better to get things done early.

I also asked her about the cake, she said to bring in a picture of how we want the cake to look like and they pass it on to Dortoni's to replicate.
She said regardless if I go straight to the bakery they do not discuss pricing with us ( don't quote me though).

So my advice is if you really want to make sure you have time, I would call her up and make the appointment without waiting for the letter.

I visited the bakery over a year ago just to taste and check it out. I was told we pick out the cake when we pick out the menu. We're going 7:30 to JT to meet with Linda on the 21st. She send they usually send a letter before the appointment but I called her last week and she said my letter was going out in the next week or so and I could make my appointment then.

She's right- they dont discuss pricing. Dortoni's tells JT how much the cake is, and then JT tells you if you owe anything.

We actually went to the bakery first and looked at pics and chose our cake with them. I reccomend you do what JT tells you do and just give them a pic of the cake because there was a whole misunderstanding about the what cake we were having (Thankfully JT and Francesca are AWESOME and straightened everything out within a day!)

When we went to Dortoni's we were told to leave the pic with them. I guess I should print another one and give it to JT then? I hope I can remember the changes we made to it....

You should be okay then. Candice is great- she did our favors for us. We had done our cake with Anna and there was a lack of communication. I have to say though- JT and Dortoni's were both GREAT, they handled everything right away.
