i say it depends on how many ppl you have. Here is the reason why, i went to a wedding recently at riviera and about half the guests had a blocked view of everything. Theres a wall and against that wall tables go down that hall, there were some people who had just the wall to the back of them so they couldn't see the dance floor or what was going on at all, and some of us had obstructed view.
That won't happen we are having a smaller wedding. The most 140 but, I say 125 will probably be it.
well then i would just go with which one is more your style and goes with the rest of your wedding decor and vision you have for your wedding.
Ive been to weddings at both and both throw great weddings, great food, nice settings

i loved JT because of the reception room - we loved loved loved the dome room - we have also been there before and we love their food
ive never been to the riviera but i heard that the food there is excellent as well!
which reception room/cocktail hour room do you like better? i really disliked the lobby at JT but we liked the garden CH room and the dome room so much that it didn't matter.

I vote for JT If you like both, go for a tasting and if that still doesn't help you decide...think about how you feel about being the only wedding, or if you really don't mind that there will probably be another wedding going on. And....just to let you know, I never saw another Bride until I was waiting for my hotel shuttle to arrive at the end of the night and never saw another bridal party the entire night!!!
