JT vs WM

Oh boy Ladies, I have done it this time... So FH was sleptical about rh 1 b/c there was no outside area he felts as though once we got up to the room our guests woudl feel stuck up there b/c other events were going on. SO he asked if we coudl look at placed with outdoor areas. So off we went yesterday, We started at Westbury Manor, and I have to say we were floored by the outdoor area. I was left speechless. I need to still compare there menus, but we are so torn, our first payment is due on rh 1 this week, and it would cost the same to book rh 2, and the price difference is minimal. UUGGHHH! plse help!

The other 2 places on our adventure list form yestrday were no match for either place, we looked at Stewart Manor Country Club, which is very cute, but we felt the cocktail area was too small, and we looked at the Coral house, and FH was not impressed from the moment we walked in. I guess rh1, and rh 2 are hard acts to follow. Coral house's prices were crazy LOW though.

So now I am lost. opinions please, ideas, anything that will help make this easier. Have you been to either place, happier at one then the other?

thanks ladies, and I hope you all had wonderful weekends!

Re: JT vs Westbury Manor

Okay i didn't look at JT b/c i know it was out of your price range but i was there for a wedding and i did LOVE it the food and everything but you are right about the outside and that does really suck....but Westbury Manor as soon as i want there i fell in LOVE with it i mean not only does it have beautiful grounds they have an inside upstairs were u can take pictures too...that was a BIG plus for me b/c my wedding is in march and who knows how the weather will be ....but i didnt even want to look anywhere else b/c i know it was the RH for us!!!!! But the prices are great too and we talked them down and the min. too so we are getting a great price for the wedding ...and the BM that we have is so sweet and nice and she helped us in a big way too ( long story) and of course the food OMG ...i never had food like that ..I've been in the restaurant its awesome the best food i never had and when i want to a bridal show there all i have to say is WOW!!!!!! the food ROCKS!@
and to tell you the truth its the best food i have ever had in a RH before and i been to a lot of places and it does not come pair at all...
Best of Luck though///i hope i helped a little ...

Re: JT vs Westbury Manor

Westbury Manor put up a greattt wedding. My cousin had hers there. She got married in May and the gardens were STUNNING, however.. it POURED in the morning so pictures outside weren't in question. The room upstairs to take pictures was so hot we were all dying of the heat so that was a major downfall and if you have anyone who can't do stairs.. they can't get up there. Other than that, it was really a great wedding.

I've been to JT for a wedding too, and that was just as nice. I do agree it's definitely nice to be able to walk outside and not feel like you can't walk around so Westbury Manor wins that fight!

Good luck!

I did not look at either JT or WM, for various reasons....but my biggest question would be, does WM have more than one wedding going on at a time?
For FH and I, think became a big deal during the hunt. Its one thing to have another wedding going on the same night, but JT has like 4 rooms or something....and thats really the reason we didnt even put it on the list.
Its totally a person choice, but my advice to you would be to make the choice and STOP seeing places. You really need to fall in love with you hall, and if you don't...move on. I really hope you can get your deposit back from JT if you decide to go with WM.
Good luck!

Re: JT vs Westbury Manor

Both are very nice halls, and I never had a bad wedding experience at either. I would choose westbury manor! JT is a little too 'wedding factory' for me. As a MoH in a wedding, I saw 3 brides while doing pictures. The times weren't staggered, the rooms share a bathroom. I'd be devastated seeing another bride, but I'm a brat. Westbury manor separates the events much better

Re: JT vs Westbury Manor

Thanks ladies! I think my heart has chosen already, we have our food tasting at WM tmrw so I am hoping we can have them work on the price a bit and make a final decision. I don't know how to talk them down in price, and to go through all this I need it to be a big enough difference in price.

Does anyone know what WM price range was for a sunday in April ?

'12er crashing...

JT and WM are two completely different looks but both are beautiful.

JT is a gorgeous venue but personally wasn't my choice. I wasn't interested in looking anywhere that held more than 2 events at a time (and the place we wound up booking actually only does one). With that said, I've been to a wedding at JT and everything was top notch. Food and service were excellent and while there were other parties going on, we didn't see anyone from the other parties.

I like the idea of my guests being able to go outside for fresh air and enjoy the grounds. Our hall has a beautiful garden area which our guests are welcome to enjoy throughout the CH and evening.

My suggestion to you is to visit both JT and WM on the same day and see which one gives you the most butterflies. Go with you gut feeling and you won't be disappointed
