Judgments-parking violations

Judgments-parking violations

I am hopefully at the tail end of closing out a long standing problem with a parking ticket that ended up becomoing a judgment on DH's credit. It's messing with a mortgage that I am applying for. I just wanted to warn everyone that if you have a parking ticket or whatever-PAY IT!!!!

My DH let it go so long that now I have to scramble to get it off his credit. Hopefully it will work out, but it's really messing with his score by about 30 points!

I hope this helps someone avoid the BS that I am going through now.

Yep..I am so frustrated and we are due to close next week. His score only has to go up 5 pts to get the loan we want but this is in the way. And his credit is really good but they take the lowest score of all 3 agencies.

I will know in a few days...

DH is the ultimate procrastinator.

So frustrating - I would have NEVER guessed that an unpaid parking ticket would affect your credit score like that.

Mineola decided to make it a judgment and that's when it became a problem. For a lousy $255! It was a $35 ticket.

Apparently your DH has not met mine. He's now struggling with EZ Pass.

They should join PA-Procrastinators Anonymous.

I hope you get it removed from his credit. I found a great article today on how important credit scores are... did you know that potential employers look at your credit to help decide if they should hire you?!

Re: Judgments-parking violations

Most companies do a background check to see if you're a criminal or if youlied about anything. In the background checks they do a credit check but it's not a regular credit check with scores usually, it's just to make sure that you are not likely to steal from the company due to dire financial circumstances.

Anyway-we are getting it removed. Hopefull we will know in a few days.

Keep your fingers crossed. They are going to rescore his credit-will know soon.

It just has to go up 5 pts! You never know with the credit bureaus.
