Juliette's Doctors Appt...

More pics, some you already may have seen...

My poor baby girl... She went to the Doctor today for a weigh in. She gained three ounces but the bump on the back of her head is actually a cyst, they said that there is nothing they can do about it. SHe may have it for the rest of her life...Her Belly button has a weird growth SO they cortorized it and hopefully it will fall off SO that she will have an innie not an outie. They gave her the hepatitis vaccine SO she screamed her lungs out. ANd worst of all, we learned that she is tongue tied SO they cut it right in the office. I cried through it all. They said when she is three or four, it she has a speech impediment, we may have to have her get surgery. ANother thing to worry about...Thank God Brian was there or I would have not been able to handle it. I just cried and cried. My poor daughter...

Aw Laurie,

I am sure that was so rough on you to watch. Many 's to you and Brian.

As much as this hurts you...she will not remember it at all! My friends son was tongue tied and they did not find out until he was a little over 1. He had the surgery and his speech greatly improved and he is no longer delayed. I would monitor her tongue and if you have concerns as she grows, insist that you see a specialist rather than wait until she is 4! But I am sure that she will be fine and...she is so beautiful.

Aw! She's beautiful!! They all have a few things going on - Lukie had a large head, torticollis (weak neck muscle that needed therapy), a cystic fibrosis scare (thank God it was fine), a double hernia, anything else....he had the silver nitrate on his belly button too. Tara had thrush 2x, soemthing else I think.

Anyway, my point is, they all have their things that you need to take care of. I think Emmas Mom is right about monitoring the speech and get early intervention if needed. I guarantee you she will lead a perfectly normal life. But she's brand new, try not to worry about that right now and enjoy your GORGEOUS daughter.

But Im sorry you're going through the worry, I know how it is and its so tough to see them in pain even if it's only for a few seconds.

I am so very sorry for Juliette, but more upset for you!!! We had an ER visit when my daughter was 1 week and she had many procedures, I literally wanted to throw up, it was the most awful thing!! Glad the day is over for you!! Maybe early speech intervention will help with her tongue tiedness. Have a better day tomorrow, she is BEAUTIFUL!!

I have never had her crying (atleast not yet!) the was she was today in teh doctors office... She never cries. I know shewas in pain and that kills me!!!

As hurtful to you as these procedures are - she will be a fine healthy baby!!! That's the most important thing!

Youre a Mommy!!! It's always going to hurt you when they hurt, even when they are adults. My Mom tells me so when I cry for my kids. My 2 year old was so sick a few weeks ago, I was crying at his pain too.

I hope you are doing better,, she is beautiful.. i hate wehn Jillian gets shots.. We actauly had to back to the hospital the day after we came home becasue jillian was severly Jaundus...(sp) and they had to put an IV in and they could not find a vein so she cried her littel eyes out untill they found aline which was in her littel hand and then they put little foam eyes covers so she could not even see out... I cries all night in the hospital..

I also get very upset wehn she is sick it makes me sad that she can not tell me what is wrong...

Hope you have a better today

Aw, Laurie!!! I'm so sorry you both had to go through that! And don't worry if Juliette needs a speech therapist in the future, my MOH can put you in touch with the best of them!

I am so sorry about poor Juliette. It breaks a Mom's heart to see their little one in pain or scared. I can't bear bringing Amber to the office for shots, etc.

Laurie, I'm sure everything will work out fine. You're such a great Mom and she is just the most precious baby girl
