That makes me feel good! You better use these last few weeks as well to get some things done. I'm also starting off at a new school and feel like a first year teacher all over again. I know once school starts I'll have little time to do anything!
Don't worry, we will get everything done!!

AHHH I feel soooo behind and I too am starting a new teaching job in 3 weeks!! Here is what I have done so far: 1. booked hall 2. booked DJ 3. booked photo/video 4. booked florist 5. favors 6. got my wedding band Have NOT done yet: 1. started dress shopping for me or BM's 2. invitations 3. STD 4. FI's wedding band
I'm sure I'm missing something!
I was planning to do alot more this summer but unfortunately my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in July so alot of time has been devoted to doctor visits and taking care of her. Its overwhelming but I know everything will get done in time.

Re: July 2005 Brides
Nbird we have the same date.
Here's what I have
-ceremony/reception hall. -live musicians for ceremony -photographer -videographer -my dress/shoes -BM dresses are getting made(need to pick out color)
In the next few weeks working on -officiant -DJ
I think it's important to book all the services now as the dates fill up quickly by the good vendors. Then all the purchases(rings, ceremony stuff, attendants gifts) I can wait until fall or winter to do with the exception of invitations(as there will need to be time to order those). I think you are in good shape, if it feels like you are on track then you are. Work at your pace. My wedding planner keep me on track and I plan what to do every month or week so I don't feel overwhelmed. Good luck

Re: July 2005 Brides
Wow you girls are making me nervous. I am also a teacher but I taught summer school this year :( I needed the extra cash.
All I have done is:
1) Hall 2) Church 3) Band 4) Photographer 5) Dress
I better get moving! My hall gave us a choice of three florists. We have to use one of the three given to us. We feel like we dont have to rush flowers because our hall is telling us we must use them. What do you think?

Re: July 2005 Brides
Well, another fellow teacher here. I'll be teaching a college Economics course this year for the first time... ugh... seriously, it might as well be brain surgery and I haven't opened a book.
I think I'm doing pretty well considering I just got engaged in Rome in front of the Pantheon on July 17 but didn't get back until July 28th.
Done: 1. Booked hall- ceremony and reception- three days after returning from trip...lol. 2. DJ... two days later 3. Photographer 4. Found my dress... will order it next week... took seven bridal salon visits 5. Made my Save the Dates- very elaborate each one with a 4 x6 sepia tone picture of us on vacation in Italy. 6. Bought my tiara today from Barrons. 7. bought my shoes- on sale DSW 8. Registered for all but bed and bath stuff at BB&B and Fortunoff's
Before school starts: 1. pick a florist 2. order dress 3. narrow down MOH dress- thank God no bridesmaids. 4. Narrow down officiants- we are interfaith and are trying out the Unitarian church in Huntington. A new pastor starts this Sunday... I'm hoping we will like him and he'll do it. 5. Narrow down veil choice
Granted this is all I've been doing pretty much full time every day. I'm only having a MOH but she is married and a part time wedding coordinator... I call her every day... What do you think of? and she says yes or no and why. What would I do without her?
Good luck to you all.

Re: July 2005 Brides
You sound better off than me. So far, I have booked hall/date, photographer, dj, picked out my dress and BM dresses (not ordered), blocked hotel, booked officiant, started to register, have begun looking at STDs, and have contacted my aunt who is a travel agent to get on the honeymoon thing (Hawaii) as soon as the prices come out. I really want to get the florist done by the end of the summer, but the woman who my brother used for his wedding (and was great) has some family crises so she is on sure if she wants to commit. She was supposed to let us know by July...still waiting! Some of the thing you could continue to work on this summer before school starts are: photgrapher, videographer (if you are using one), block hotels for OOT guests, book your hotel room, ceremony music, register, decide on honeymoon and depending where it is to begin to book. Hope that helps!

Re: July 2005 Brides
I'm not surprised that a lot of us July brides are teachers. I have almost everythign done because we had a two and a half year engagement. We were living in Massachusetts when we got engaged and weren't supposed to move home until now, but I got a teaching job here last summer and moved home early. Hence the fact that I booked everything already. but it's good ebcuase I'm going to be so busy during the school year.

Re: July 2005 Brides
OMG....I got really anxious when I saw what everyone has done.
I did the church Hall Photographer Videographer Dress
Ahhhh, I really need to get moving but I am having a hard time deciding what I want the wedding to be like. Cake centerpieces, or flowers, color scheme and other such things. I don't want to make a decision and then wish I had done something different.
